Purple Fairy & Flowers

I wanted to make a feminine card with flowers, lace and other girlie details.

I love this fairy image, but I haven't used it more than once or twice, so this image was the starting point. I decided to use this lovely paper with purple roses, so with that I had the color scheme set.

A good start, but then I decorated everything upside down on the backing paper and had to do a lot of make over.. Oh, well.

I spend a lot of time decorating feminine cards, trying to place flowers and lace here and there, before I'm able to make up my mind... I ended up with some flowers at the bottom left corner, a butterfly sticker, a chipboard with sentiment and lace. Oh, and lots of liquid pearls to make the swirls!

The image is colored using watercolor pencils and the wings are decorated with glitter glue.
I enter this card into these challenges:
1) Divas by Design - #37 anything goes
2) Whimsy Inspiration - #41 bingo (pearls - image - flowers)

Bear & Birds singing Christmas Carols

A Christmas card in May!
I've used a stamp from "Ladybug and Friends" with a bear and two birds singing Christmas carols. The image is colored with watercolor pencils, and I've added glitter to the wings and to the red berries.
I've used two papers - a patterned one as backing paper and a plain blue one for the circle and the panel underneath the strip of lace, I've also used 8 blue rhinestones.

I enter this card into these challenges;
1)Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge - Tweet Christmas (Use Birds)

Pink & Girlie

I must admit I'm a bit out of my comfort zone when making girlie cards - and all in pink too!!!
But I discovered this beautiful sketch and thought it would be a perfect starting point for the beautiful La La Land stamp I received as a gift from Kasey.
I have distressed the edges of the oval panels with Milled lavender colored ink. And I have also used lace and flowers.

I participate in these challenges with this card:
1) Sketch Saturday - SKETCH* #209
2) Send a Smile for Kids - Anything goes for kids

Little Ghost shaped card

To make this card I enlarged a stamped image and cut it out to make my template.
I embossed the paper and drew a line of glitter glue along the edges. For the eyes I cut out two circles, added buttons and rhinestones.
It's not my greatest card, but I think the ghost ended up to be quite cute, and I think this card could be perfect for a little birthday boy.

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Less Is More - #69 Not a Square
2) One Stop Craft - #184 For the Boys
3) Paper Crafting Journey - Anything for Kids
4) Just Keep on Creating - #2 Anything Goes

I have used a Martha Stewart punch around the edges.

Little Cowboy - Monochromatic

I really enjoy making cards for boys and men, and this time I went for a monochromatic look.
I have used watercolor pencils to color this sweet Stampavie image. I have added a birthday sentiment in Norwegian and I have also used a stamp to make the banner.

CAS new born Baby Boy

My favorite color combination is kraft and blue. That is the starting point for this card. I also wanted to make a clean and simple card, and I decided to go for a design with lots of empty space.
I have used a Martha Stewart punch to make the borders of the blue card, and I added a bit of pearly glimmer mist.
The teddy bear is colored in kraft paper and there's a bit of blue glitter blue on the ribbon around his neck.
The sentiment is stamped. The only embellishment is a blue ribbon bow and a star metal charm.

I enter this card into the following challenges:

2) Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge - #63 New Baby

Onesie for a Baby Boy

I used a sketch from "Try Stamping on Tuesdays" as inspiration for this design. I am hooked on kraft paper at the moment, so I created my background with embossed kraft. The onesie is cut out manually, and I added a rubon to it. I used 2 different DPs, light blue ribbon and a little tag, which has also been embossed.

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Try Stamping On Tuesdays - SKETCH*- #64
2) Cute Card Thursday - For the boys
3) My Mum's Craft shop - #55 embossing

Twas the Night before Christmas...

The sun is shining outside and I think we're going to a have a fantastic spring day here in Oslo. That didn't stop the urge to make a Christmas card :)
I think this Northstar stamp is my favorite Christmas stamp! That cute little boy in his pyjamas, hanging up his stocking in anticipation of a visit from Santa!
My choice of colors comes from the inspirational photo at Winter Wonderland - that image is such a great one!
I have used purple spotted paper and the paper with sentiment I have printed. I have used some glittery stickers on each side of the card, a sticker star and I have tied a a bow with silvery pearls. I added glitter glue around the ovals - these are cut out using dies.

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Winter Wonderland - Photo Inspiration
2) Christmas Cards All Year 'Round - Christmas Carol (Twas the night before Christmas)
3) Christmas Crafting - Twas the night before Christmas

CAS Yellow Flower on Kraft

The image is a freebie from Anji's Antics and I thoght it would be great for the color challenge at Less Is More - #66 Yellow.

I added a punched paper with yellow ribbon, a little bit of glitter and a rub-on sentiment. I used kraftpaper for the card base.

Wild Wild West

I have used a sketch from "Crafting when we can" as inspiration for my design. I used stars instead of circles, otherwise I kept close to the sketch.
The Core'dinations paper has been sanded, the stars are cut out using dies, the ticket with sentiment is stamped. The cowboy is a digi from Digital Delights, and the cactus is printed from WordArt as I don't have any cactus stamps and I did want to add some color to my design.

Très chic Gift Bag

I downloaded a digi from this webpage: Free Vintage Digistamps. You can find some really awesome digis there!
I used Distress Ink color Old Paper to give the image and doily a faded look.
The swirls I stamped, then I added liquid pearls color Platinum.
I added black ribbons at the top and bottom of my card base. I made a bow on which I attached a little Eiffel Tower metal charm. I also added a metal flower and a handmade one with a brad.
The sentiment and the postage stamps are rub-ons.

CAS Tree branch with flowers and dragonfly

I have used a Memory Box die to cut out the tree branch from kraft paper.

The flowers are handmade. I tore the paper as I didn't want them to look too neat.

The dragonfly is cut out of a design paper, and I have added some Star Dust glitter glue to its wings and in the middle of the flowers.

The sentiment I made on my computer and printed it.

Except for the white card base I have only used scrap papers. Feels good to make use of those scraps from time to time too.

A clean and simple card with pastel colors!

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Shelly's Images - Pastels, kraft & flowers
2) CAS-ual Fridays - Flowers / Trees
3) Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday – Rolled Paper
4) 4 Crafty Chicks - No stamping

YIHA!

I've had this Core'dinations paper for a while, but I didn't feel I had any stamps or images to use with it. I won a challenge at "Cards for Men" and the gift was digis from Digital Delights by Louby Loo, and one of my picks was this cowboy silhoutte. This is the first time I use a digi, and to use it I had to invest in a printer first (yippee - a printer is so great to have when papercrafting!).
I used a ticket stamp with greeting for the sentiment, and I have used dies to cut out the stars - using scrap papers only. The Core'dinations paper has been sanded to bring out the star pattern, and I have also sanded along the edges to give a distressed look. The kraft paper stars have been distressed with brown ink.

I think the theme is perfect for a boy - what little boy has never played cowboys and the Wild West, even dreamt of being a cowboy himself....
This was a really fun card to make!

CAS Birds and Clouds

I used a sketch from "Less is More" Challenge Blog as inspiration for the layout.

I wanted to go with gray and white colors only. The ink's color is called "London Fog".
To give the card just a tiny bit of sparkle I added Star Dust Stickles to the birds' wings.

I have used stamps for the birds, clouds and sentiment, the fence is cut out using a die.

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Less Is More - #65 Sketch
2) Crop Stop - Birds
3) Inked Paws - Clean & simple
4) Fab 'n' Funky - #118 no DP
5) Paper Pretties -PPC203 clean and simple

Enjoying life!

I think this Stamping Bella stamp is so fun and just perfect for a card for summer!
I have colored the stamped image using watercolor pencils.
I chose papers in bright, happy colors, mainly pinks and yellows.
I have used a polka dot embossing folder on the sides, and I even embossed the yellow flowers that I cut out using dies.
I tried stitching for the first time on a card! I used a dark pink thread, and to add some more yellow I used yellow ribbon.

I got this stamp from "Bildmålarna" yesterday, and I just had to use it straight away.

I have used two Sizzix embossing folders, one with snowflakes and one with dots.

I have also used two different dies, the oval and the label on which the sentiment is stamped. Both dies are from x-Cut.

I have added Diamond glitter glue around the embossed background, around the ovals, on the snowflake in the girl's hand and on the sentiment.

Red and white paper and 2 red buttons- that's it!

Sketch -blues, whites and browns

My inspiration for this card I got from a sketch at Frosted Designs. I am sure that I will use this sketch  several times in the future!

I wasn't planning to go for a vintage style when I started out, I meant to keep the card rather clean, and I think I ended up with a result somewhere in between...

I have used three different design papers, flowers, lace, ribbon and a metal butterfly. The image is cut out from a design paper, the text is stamped.

Candle Holder - Recycled Jam Jar

I read somewhere that Norwegians burn over 200 million tea lights a year. Apparently this means that we have the highest use pr inhabitant in the world, with approx 40 pr person! Must be due to our long and dark winters...
Anyway, I tend to keep empty glass jars - I clean them and remove the labels, and then I make my own candle holders. Before I started making cards, and really got into paper craft, I used to decorate them with decoupage, using paper napkins, or stickers.
In general I decorate the top and bottom of the jar to let the lights shine through.

For this jar I have used: lace,  ribbon, paper flowers, rub-ons (butterfly and birds) and a die-cut swirl.
For the choice of colors I got my inspiration from challenge #26 at The Ribbon Reel.

I know I might be disqualified for some challenges (though I think most accept "projects" and not only cards), but I just wanted to share an idea based on recycling. It's also an activity which is great to do with kids, let them decorate the empty jars with whatever they want (they will surely come up with great ideas themselves!).

I enter this candle holder into the following challenges:

Christmas Door with Gingham

I love this stamp from Papermania - I think it's really Chritmas-y.
I started this card with my stamped image, and I decided to go with papers that would pick up the reds and greens from the image.
I used plaid design paper in red&white and green paper for the pine branches.
I have a lot of buttons, so I decided to add a bit of colors to the branches with those, and I also used a bit of white lace.

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Christmas Crafting - #10 Gingham
2) The Crafty Pad - #166 Bounty of Buttons
3) Crazy 4 Challenges - #C4C132 Using Buttons

Christmas in grey and pink

I just love this paper with trees in different shades of pink on a grey background. I think it's a nice variation from the more traditional Christmas colors.
I wanted to keep the background neutral so I just embossed the white paper.
Tilda has been colored in different shades of pink to match the design paper.
I wanted to keep the card rather simple, with few embellishments, so I have only added white twine and a tree charm, which I think suits the theme of the design paper. The sentiment is stamped on grey paper.

CAS Christmas Tree - 3 shades of green

OK. First of all, green is not my favorite color. Second, I love CAS cards but it's not something I master. Third, it's impossible for me to take a good picture that really shows the true colors whenever greens are involved...
But still, I couldn't resist to have a go at the "Less is more" challenge! If one never tries, well... So I look at this card challenge as a good learning experience!
The tree is made of papers in 2 different shades of green. I used a die and glued the strips together before I cut a triangular shape. The ribbon is also in a shade of green, I used a dotty embossing folder to make the background appear as snow. The star at the top of the tree is a brad.

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) "Less is More"  - Week 62 Three Shades of Green
2) Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge - #67 White Christmas

Chocolate Cupcakes Recipe

The inspiration for this card was chocolate cupcakes, so I have only used browns and beige.
The recipe I found on the web, and I moderated in Word. The recipe is not glued to the card, so it can actually be used!
The stamps I've used was a free gift that came with a magazine I bought.

Card for Baby Girl

I have used different design papers from KaiserCraft and stickers on this card.

Gift bag - Pink&Orange

For this gift bag I had the challenge at Shelly's Images - Kraft, Pink, Orange and Embossing - in mind. It indeed turned out to be a challenge!
I cut out a bird, free hand, and embossed it. I used pink and orange feathers for its tail. Than I added different embellishments and details in the same colors.
I'm not convinced that the combination of orange and pink will ever by a favorite of mine, but considering how I struggled to piece this together, I'm quite satisfied with the result.
And I love challenges that force you to try something new!
