Less Is More - #78 Sketch

Things were going well, I had stamped my heart, added the border punch and ribbon. From there on things didn't exactly go as planned...

I wanted to use a decorative rub-on for the sentiment, which said "All you need is love", but it was impossible to get the whole sentiment transferred to the paper.  So I had to do a cover up job with the sentiment I ended up with...

This sketch is fun to work with, so I guess I will have another go and prepare a second entry...

Less Is More - #78 Sketch

Beach Bear

LOTS of rain in Oslo today, so I was really inspired to make a summery card today, to compensate for the weather outside!
I've used a digi from Guylous Inimitability for this card. I've colored the image using Promakers pens - this was my first attempt coloring with Promarkers, I usually use watercolor pencils, and I rather enjoyed using them!
I've used orange paper as background and 3 different design papers in different shades of orange and yellow. The sentiment is a sticker. I've also used rhinestones.
The design is inspired by the Stampin With The Dragon sketch.

I enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Vintage Christmas Card

I wanted to use this vintage image of an angel with a book. I added a rub on with a Christmas sentiment to the image. I've used papers that came together with a papercraft magazine last year. I didn't want to add too many embellishments as I wanted the lovely papers to be shown, so I just added 6 pearls, ribbon and a die cut star.

Hexagons and Flowers in shades of grey

I'm not happy with the quality of the photo - I've tried to take photos inside and outdoors, during daylight and in the evening, without further success. This seems to happen every time I use green papers...

I've only used one stamp, for the sentiment, from a set of Kanban stamps. The label is made using a die - I've added two green rhinestones to it.
I've also used dies to make the hexagons, the smallest flower and the leaves. I've used two brads, for the center of the largest flowers, but for the smallest one I've used some pearl straws.

The patterned papers, from Panduro, are in different shades of greys, and for the card base I've used green and grey paper.

I enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Craft Your Days Away - #50 Shades of Grey and one other (green)

Wooden Hearts and Stitches on Kraft

This week's LIM theme is stitching and that's the inspiration for this card.
I've used 2 different stamps with stitches, and I went for brown ink on kraft. Between the stamped borders I've added some Washi tape. The sentiment is a rub on. I've used 2 heart dies. The biggest heart is cut out of design paper, and for the smaller one I've used a wooden stamp. The edges of the hearts and the card base are distressed with Walnut stain ink. I also rounded off the bottom  edges of the card base.

I've used dies from Marianne Creatables for the trees, and the for the circle I've used a Lea'bilities die.
I've stamped the sentiment (Merry Christmas in Norwegian). The image is from Magnolia.

CAS One Layer Card with 3 Colors

My second entry for this week's LIM challenge.
I've made few one layer cards in my life, so I'm trying to get some experience and practice with this type of card!
For this challenge, with the theme of 3's, I've used 3 colors (blue, pink and yellow) and this cute digi (a freebie from Tiddly Inks) has 3 balloons.
I hope that's enough of 3's....
The sentiment is stamped.

Teddy Bo Girl Up in the Air Birthday Card

For this card I've only used different pink and blue colored paper.
Apart from the flowery backing paper I've only used scraps.
I'm so into paper piecing right now - it's a great way of using up small bits of paper! So I've paper pieced the bear.
I've stamped the balloons and the clouds, but the sentiment is a rub-on.
I've used a die for the fence.
I added 3 pink roses and tore the edges of the backing paper.

I enter this into the following challenges:

CAS One Layer Card

Oh boy, I struggle with one layer cards!!!
The last time this was the theme over at LIM I ended up with a whole "graveyard" of cards and I didn't enter any of them. And I'm only half pleased with this one, if that much,,, But, one needs to practice to get any better, so here goes:
Less Is More - #76 One layer - Anything 3's

I've used 3 different stamps (birds, music note border and sentiment). I've used some glitter glue to make the heart. I've rounded the bottom corners.

I've kept to a mint green and blue color scheme.
I've paper pieced the teddy bear  - I've stamped the image  on colored paper, then I stamped his vest and cap in the same jeans paper that I've used for the smaller circles.

Vintage card made of leftovers

This card is totally made from scraps and leftovers. I hardly throw anything away and I try to be "economical" in my cardmaking (I don't dare to think of the money I've spent on this hobby...) If you disassembled this card you would see what I mean!
I can't remember where I got the image, but the post card label is a left over from a design paper. The sentiment is a rub-on ( I love rub-ons!) and I used the masking technique with 2 different unused stamps to make the fence and rose. I also stamped the rose twice and cut out just the flowers. The ribbon bow I made for another project, but I didn't use it then. If I remember correctly, I bought the lace while on a trip to Tallinn and the doily I bought in a food store in Dubai. So this card represents my 2 favorite hobbies: travel and card making!

I participate in the following challenges with this card:
1) Craft Your Days Away - #49 Doily's and Lace
2) Craftymess Challenge - #12 Ribbons and Lace
3) Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Anything Goes

6) Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
7) Waste Not Wednesday - always "use your forgotten stuff"
8) Crazy Amigo Challenge - Vacation (postcard on the card and items bought on holiday - maybe a bit far fetched?)

CAS Black&Pastel Love Birds

I think those little birds are my favorite stamps! They are two separate stamps, but I made a couple of them - the lady in pink and the gentleman in blue.
I didn't add any bling at all, just a paper with text and a rub-on, which means "I love you"

This card is being entered in the following challenges:
1)  CAS-ual Fridays - use Text
2)  Crop Stop - Show us some love
3)  Creative Craft Challenges - Tweet Tweet
4)   Shelly's Images - Use text/sentiment (2nd entry)

I've kept to a color scheme with brown and beige tones and went for a vintage inspired look.
I've used a Spellbinder die to make a frame for the image, which is cut out from design paper.
For the sentiment I've used a rubber stamp from Panduro, and I've used dies to cut out the snowflakes.
All elements have been inked with "old paper" Distress Ink. I've also used some brown lace.

For a Birthday Girl

I'm enjoying my last week of summer holiday, so I have plenty of time to make cards. So - a pink and girlie card this time! I find them quite hard to do, as I have trouble finding the right balance between too much and too little stash.
I've used a rubber stamp from Panduro. I've inked the edges around the image and the card. I've used glitter glue on her wings.  The sentiment is a rub on. I've used star brads and I've also made a star with pink rhinestones. I've added ribbon with pompons at the top and bottom of the card.

Tag shaped Christmas Card

My starting point for this tag shaped card  was the Cardabilities sketch.
I embossed the card base. I attached white ribbon with pompons to kraft paper. The sentiment is stamped. For the branches and poinsettia I've used dies. I've used a metal ornament in the center of the flower. I also added a fabric reindeer and some pearls and a bow.
