Metal and Wings

The colorful photo over at Time Out inspired me to try something new to me - to make a Steampunk style card and to color hair in non-traditional colors. The image is from Hannah Lynn - I just loved her mechanical looking wings. I colored her with Promakers in colors from the photo.  I decided to use my MB gears die as well as a gear charm. I used bronze embossing powder and ancient gold frantage to give the gears a metal look. I covered a frame of kraft with purple embossing powder. The DP is Graphic45, I stamped the sentiment from TPC Studio on the reverse side of the patterned paper.

This card is for these challenges:
1) TIME OUT Challenges - #6 Photo
2) Rhedd & Rosie's Challenge Blog - #33 No Flowers
3) Inky Chicks - #Use A Metal Embellishment
4) Sentimental Sundays - #208 Things with Wings

Shaker Card with Santa

Over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday this week's optional twist is ANYTHING GOES. I've used an image from http://api.ning.com/files/aX2yEHaS8Jk2DH8fwoAbgmm2-lnqxPsQBGeMaXKmAeluM*ikFbs7RvkTAltEtRdMWwndU*0*roWxdep7CM6pk0jyLzt7*qDg/papertemptress.gif Stitchy Bear Designs, our sponsor for the month of May together with Paper Temptress. To be in the chance of winning one of these prizes all you need to do is enter in one or more of our challenges in May.
The image, which you can find here, is colored with Promarkers and I've added glitter to the fur trimmings of his outfit. The background is sprayed with Dylusions "After Midnight" spay. I've used a tree die from Memory Box and flocking for the snow. The frame is made of white paper. The only place I found to add a sentiment was with the string. The little tag is made with a LOTV stamp and a pearl brad from my stash.

This card is also for these challenges:
    1) Craft Your Passion - Frame It
    2) Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog - Here comes Santa
    3) 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown - Stash Challenge (old tag stamp and brad, new tree die, blue mist)

      Little Sailor

I'm almost out of cards for young boys, so I decided to ink up sailor Edwin today.

My layout is inspired by the sketch over at "Sketchy Colors", I flipped and rotated it.

In addition to the Magnolia stamp I've used a banner from Kaisercraft, a sentiment from Kort&Godt and seashells and starfish from Graphic45.

The background DP with stripes is also from Graphic45, the one with the clouds from Pebbles.

I used my wavy border die from Memoy Box and circle shaped dies.

I added platinum EP around the circle to make it into a frame, and I covered the kraft base with cheesecloth.

I attached Edwin to a string, and I machine sewed with blue thread around the edges.

This card is for these challenges:
      1) Sketchy Colors - #212 Sketch
      2) Come and Get It - Lots of layers
      3) Allsorts - #260 Happy Birthday

      Bloom

For someone who's more into the masculine style and isn't exactly wild about pink, I sure have made a lot of pink and girly cards lately...
I got some new paper pads with these gorgeous pink papers, and for this card I've used 2 DPs from Carta Bella's "Paris girl" collection.
I've used no stamps for this card, just a vintage photo, flowers from Hunkydory Crafts which I decorated with pearls from my stash, and a die cut birthday greeting.

I'd like to enter my card in these challenges:
      1) Inkspirational - #57 Bloom

      CAS and Cute Cat

This little cat lives over at Di's Digi Designs - the image is called "I picked you some flowers". I saved him from a terrible fate of ending up in the trash bin as I had totally messed up the coloring of the sky, so I took him down from the fence he's normally sitting on too and cut close the lines of his body. I wasn't quite happy with the dark pink color I had added to the flowers' centers either, so I added two pearls to cover it up.

I had planned a different layout for this image, but changed my mind as I discovered the sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.
The doodled panel is mounted on foam, as is the cat. I used two scrap pieces of pink papers to make the handcut banners. No sentiment on the front, I will add a birthday greeting or thank you sentiment on the inside once I've decided.

This card is for these challenges:
      1) House of Cards - CAS and/or Classic/Elegant + Colors
      2) Try Stampin On Tuesday - Sketch
      3) Card Mania - CAS (Clean & Simple)

      Lunch Time in the Garden

Over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday this week's optional twist is to use something METAL or TIN FOIL. My metal elements are two brads. To be in the chance of winning one of these prizes all you need to do is enter one or more of our challenges in May, and do you wish to use the twist you'll earn an extra entry in the draw.
The image, which you can find here, is colored with Promarkers.  The layout is inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Sketch & Stamps, and I've also chosen elements for the bingo chart over at Come and Get it. My two youngest nephews are invited to a lot of girls' birthdays, and my sister has requested me to make her some girly cards. So I added a birthday sentiment onto one of the die cut MB clouds. The paper with flowers and strawberries are Maja Designs, the green one is an unknown scrap piece. I used a Magnolia die for the leaves, a wooden butterfly and flowers from my stash.

This card is also for these challenges:
      1) Sunday Sketch & Stamp - #207 Sketch
      2) Come and Get It - Bingo (3 or more layers+free+flowers)
      3) 613 Avenue Create - #72 Anything + Option "Use 3 shapes" (rectangle, square and circle)

Children at the Seaside - card #3

I love the pre-colored set called "Children at the Seaside" - you can find it here over at Nicecrane Designs!
I've used some of the same items as for my first two cards, but with a different layout or color scheme.
The postcard is made with a stamp from TPC Studio, and the seaside sign is made with a Tilda stamp. The starfish and seashells are from the same Tilda stamp set, I've heat embossed them using white EP.
I used a Spellbinder oval die for the frame.
The background DP is from Maja Design. Cheesecloth from my stash.

This card is for these challenges:
      1) Craftitude - #65 Anything Goes/Use a Die
      2) Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge - #176 To Die For (use a die)

      Birthday, Balloons and Flowers

There's not much to say about this card as I've kept it very clean. This little cutie is from A Day for Daisies and I colored her up using Promarkers. I added glossy accent to the balloons and stamped a very simple birthday greeting.

The DP is a favorite - it's been in my stash for more than a year! For some reason my favorite papers seem to be left untouched for a long time, like I'm waiting for the perfect occasion to arise to use it. But if I leave it for too long, then my taste might have changed and that would be a waste... I mounted the DP onto red paper, and the A2 card base is made using white cardstock.

Tomorrow is a special day in Norway. Every year we celebrate that we got our own Constitution on May 17th, 1814, and that makes tomorrow its 200th anniversary! We' will walk to Oslo's city center, it's a 15 minute walk, and look at all the children, and grownups, walking the parade and playing music. And we'll drink champagne for breakfast - it's a tradition for many (those who're old enough and don't have to drive) for this particular date.

I'd also like to pass on my birthday wishes to Sandie over at Ink - Happy Birthday, Sandie!

This card is for these challenges:
      1) Inkspirational - #56 Photo Inspiration
      2) Fan-Tastic Tuesday - #35 CAS
      3) Inky Chicks - #29 CAS
      4) Cards in Envy - May Flowers A2 card

      Swallows

Over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday, this week's optional twist is WINGS. I've used an image called "Resting Swallows" from Delicious Doodles that you can purchase through http://api.ning.com/files/aX2yEHaS8Jk2DH8fwoAbgmm2-lnqxPsQBGeMaXKmAeluM*ikFbs7RvkTAltEtRdMWwndU*0*roWxdep7CM6pk0jyLzt7*qDg/papertemptress.gif Stitchy Bear Designs - one of our sponsors for the month of May. We also have  Paper Temptress. To be in the chance of winning one of these prizes all you need to do is enter one of our challenges in May, and do you wish to use the twist you'll earn an extra entry in the draw.
I didn't use any patterned papers for this card. I printed the image onto white cardstock and sprinkled it with glimmer mist. For texture I added a bit of cheesecloth behind the image and cut out flowers from a beautiful lace I found while I was in Latvia. The leaves are made with a Memory Box die. I also added 11 gems.

This card is also for these challenges:
      1) Artistic Inspirations - Anything Goes / No Designer Papers
      2) Crafty Boots - Blue & White
      3) Crafty Creations - #263 Use Two: flowers, diecut, ribbon, purple (flowers and diecut)

Baby, Sketch, Colors, Papers and Bingo

I needed one or two more baby girl
cards, and the sketch over at Sketchy colors and the colors over at House of Cards seemed to be perfect for what I had in mind. I also wanted to try out the twist over at 613 Avenue Create. I've used 4 different patterned papers. I stamped my image from KaiserKraft directly onto the DP and only added a bit of glitter glue to the bow in her hair. The frame is made with a newly purchased Marianne die. The sentiment is made with a stamp from Kort&Godt and it translates something like "a little angel is born". I used 3 flowers and pearls from my stash, pink organza ribbon onto which I attached a metal pacifier. I stitched with pink thread around the edges.

This card is for these challenges:
      1) House of Cards - Cute/Fun and/or Shabby/Vintage + Color
      2) 613 Avenue Create - #71 AG or Make Your Own Challenge (I've circled on the chart what I've used from each column)
      3) Sketchy Colors - #210 Sketch
      4) Creative Corner - Baby
      5) 2 Sisters - #176 Baby

      Reindeer in the Forest

The birch trees die from Memory Box has been on the top of my wish list since I first saw it some time ago, and I'm finally a very happy owner of one! I got it yesterday and wanted to play with it straight away.
I had planned to make a white on white card, I don't know where in the process things evolved away from that, but as you can see it did, lol.
I've seen others using stamped non colored images and I wanted to try it out myself, using a reindeer cling stamp from Penny Black. I fussy cut it and attached it to a DP from Maja Design together with the die cut trees.
The frame is made using two circle dies on kraft. I covered it first with bronze EP, then I added "aged gold" frantage. I quite like the look of it.
The birch trees and punched snowflakes have got glitter on them. The sentiment is a sticker mounted onto a border of vellum. I mounted the panel onto a another piece of Maja Design DP, then I attached it all to my white base card using foam stickers.

My card turned out completely different from what I had envisioned, but at least I got one more Christmas card ready!

This card is for these challenges:
      1) Winter Wonderland - Winter Animals
      2) Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything Christmas
      3) Completely Christmas - #11 Anything Goes

I colored him with grey Promarkers, added silver embossing powder to the halo and glitter glue to the wings. I've used 4 dies - Go Kreate for the card base, Spellbinders for the oval, Marianne for the larger snowflake and one from KaBoks for the Christmas sentiment in Norwegian. For the smaller snowflakes I used a punch. I also added a felt snowflake stickers, pearls, card candy, and I sprinkled the oval with white Frantage.

"I didn't want to catch you"

Normally when I get a set of stamps, digi or rubber, some of them become the favorite ones, some might night never see ink or be printed. But with the Nicecrane pre-colored set called "Children at the Seaside" (you can find it here) I love every image! I aim to make a card with each image and make them a gift set.
For this card I used the boy image. I just love his expression seeing his catch, and the sentiment that is printed on the image states just that - "I didn't want to catch you".
I've kept to a blue and white color scheme, together with kraft, using papers from Authentique and Maja Designs. The postcards are made with a stamp from Prima, and the birthday sentiment is heat embossed with white EP and it's mounted onto a piece of burlap.
The two seashells are brads from my stash, I used my last bit of seam binding ribbon and attached a sailboat metal charm to it. The clouds are die cut with MB dies.

This card is for these challenges:
      1) Cardz 4 Guyz - #17 Bingo For Guyz (brads+image+blue)
      2) The Male Room - #9 Humorous
      3) Pile It On - #18 Child's Play

      At the Seaside

I love Nicecrane images, and the image I used for this card is part of a pre-colored set called "Children at the Seaside" - you can find it here.
I cut the image with an oval die and mounted it onto an ornate oval die cut made using a Spellbinders die.
I  used a DP with a peachy pink color, I can't remember where it's from, this is the only piece I had left.
The panel with the sentiment and the seashells are heat embossed. I used stamps from a Tilda set.
I also used 3 blue pearls and cheesecloth from my stash.

This card is for these challenges:
      1) Come and Get It - Anything Goes
      2) The Corrosive Challenges - #198 Head Gear
      3) Sentimental Sundays - #205 Shabby Chic or use Lace/Doily

      Stella's ready for summer...

For this card I used the sketch over at "Stella Says Sketch" as inspiration for my layout. And I did use a Stella image as well. She's dressed for summer, and I gave her bright colored clothes. I fussy cut her and added her to a panel with doodled lines. The panel is mounted on foam. I chose a neutral sentiment, so that the card can be used for several occasions. For the border I used my wave die from Memory Box, and I added white twine onto which I attached a small boat metal charm. The background DP is from Carta Bella's "Rough Tumble" paper pad.

This card is for these challenges:
      1) Stella Says Sketch - #208 Sketch
      2) Cuttin & Stampin Challenges - For Mom Without Flowers
      3) Addicted to Stamps and More - #93 Holiday

      Flowers

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at Outlawz Twisted Thursday. This week's twist is BINGO - you don't have to use the twist, but if you do, you'll earn an extra entry in the prize draw.
http://api.ning.com/files/aX2yEHaS8Jk2DH8fwoAbgmm2-lnqxPsQBGeMaXKmAeluM*ikFbs7RvkTAltEtRdMWwndU*0*roWxdep7CM6pk0jyLzt7*qDg/papertemptress.gifOur May sponsors are Stitchy Bear Designs and  Paper Temptress, and for my card I used and a Stitchy Bear image called Floral Corner Arrangement I. I printed it onto watercolor paper, colored it using my Derwent Inktense pencils and fussy cut it. I rarely use green and pink on my cards, but this image kind of called for it, so I chose to use papers from Carta Bella's "Paris Girl" paper pad as well as a sheer pink ribbon. I mounted the image on foam and added it to a die cut oval which I stamped with a birthday sentiment. I used the diagonal row of ribbon, image and layers.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
      1) Sweet Stamps - # 167 Photo Inspiration
      2) Come and Get It - Spring Flowers
      3) Created With Love Challenges - In the Garden
      4) Paper Shelter Challenge -#156 Ribbon
