One Layer - Christmas scene

I'm so out of my comfort zone with one layer cards! That's why I decided to have a go at this week's LIM challenge. This is my third go at it, my first two attempts are now in my pile of cards that I, hopefully, may use as scraps in the future:)

The challenge says to add something with wings. Well, my card has a cute little pair of birds, but I do recognize they're not the focal point of my card. I will not be disappointed if the card is to be deleted from the LIM challenge - this card is more about challenging myself :)

Since I wanted to heat emboss the tree I had to try and get two different inks on Magnolia stamp. It was quite tricky, not a perfect result, but the best I could do with what I've got with equipment...
I've added glitter glue to the snow and I've scored a frame around the scene.

I enter this card into these challenges:
1) Less Is More - #89 One Layer Challenge - Wings
2) One Stop Craft - #200 Heat Embossing
3) Little Miss Muffet Challenges - One layer or CAS
4) Addicted to Stamps and More - CAS (2nd entry)
5) Make it Monday - Anything Goes

  1. I think it is lovely! I have never managed to secure an embossed frame around anything!
I've only done an embossed frame on a half dozen cards. I did the frame fist as I couldn't secure it straight otherwise!!! teehee

I think yours is just lovely.

  2. This is wonderful Pia and I think the birds are very much part of the main focus with the tree and the sentiment. You seem very at home with one layer to me!

  19. Great one layer card with lots of details ! The bird images are sweet. I agree with you that one layer can be difficult, as I always like lots of colour & layers & decoupage.
