Music, CASE and dimension

I really liked the card to CASE over at TimeOut, so I wanted to give it a go. My first attempt turned out to be a sorry little number, I was going for one layer and it looked awful. But I persisted, being inspired by the layout and adding a bit more of "me" in the design all while keeping a simple look.

I quite like using non Christmas images for Christmas designs. This time I used a stamped and heat embossed trumpet sent to me by Monika. Sorry, but I don't know the brand. Twofers have the theme of music this fortnight, the only requirement is to use stamps (no digis) and follow the theme (music).

I made a frame for the trumpet using med Dienamics stitched oval dies. The holly was made using a stamp from Poppy Design, I colored it with Promarkers and added red pearls from my stash. I mounted it on foam, being inspired by the theme over at Addicted to CAS.

The musical notes panel is made with a small stamp from Prima, one I hadn't used before. The sentiment is die cut, meaning "Christmas greetings" in Norwegian.

This card is for these challenges:
TIME OUT Challenges - #43 Case
Twofers - #8 Music
Addicted to CAS - Dimension

  1. Everyone has a personal own style and I think yours is wonderful, Pia!
I found very difficult Caseing cards by others, but I keep always many inspirations everywhere. Your CAS is very elegant and perfect for masculine and feminine persons. Love the musical notes stamped in only one part of the backgrond, with the stitched oval and the gorgous sentiment: they matches very well toghether!! The pop-out holly has a great dimension with the pearls!
    Hugs!

  2. Very nice, Pia! I do love a little music mixed with my Christmas. I know what you mean about not beingetting 100% pleased with your work-- then you sort of "hit the reset button" and get back to YOU! Way to persevere... great greeting.
