It's Thursday and time for an OLDIE BUT GOODIE over at Catch the Bug and a new challenge over at Outlawz Twisted Thursday. This week the optional twist - or theme - is "use green" and the sponsor for March is Bugaboo. This was a bit of a challenge for me as I rarely use much green, mostly for a few leaves or Christmas greeneries.
I used an image of a fireman rescuing a cat. Even though this isn't a St Patrick's Day card I'm sure the cat feels a bit lucky here. The image and my Marianne die cut trees have been colored with Promarkers.
The grass is made using a Lalaland die and a tulip punch was used. And of course there's stitching too (I'm addicted) using a green metallic thread.
This card will go to my sister who has 3 young boys, from 7 months to 9 years, and they're invited to lots of birthday parties. When I was achild boys wanted to be policmen of firemen when they got older, today they dream about becoming "you tubers". Oh well, times changes...
This card is also for:

Gorgeous card and scene Pia..Loz
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your story about your nephews, Pia. So true LOL! I'm sure one of them will love this fireman card though. I love that tree in the background, the stitching adds such a nice detail, and I like that you popped up the main image. Great card!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Pia! We used the same image this week...I guess we were thinking the same thing...great minds think alike! :)))
ReplyDeleteDear Pia, so sorry I haven't been around for the past week - I've been sick with a nasty flu. Still miserable but I finally did some crafting and I wanted to get caught up on your cards that I missed. Scene cards are my favourite style of cards, other than shaker cards, so this is right up my alley, and especially since I see a kitty! Absolutely LOVE your stitching! That's sad that the current aspiration is to become a YouTuber - what kind of goal is that?! I know there are some successful ones that make a living but, OMGoodness!
ReplyDeleteOh wow Pia, your scene looks really amazing my friend! I love the popped up tree with the grass border and flowers!! Such a cute cat rescue scene if I've ever seen one!! ;) Love it! HUGS

Awesome scene you created here Pia. It's perfect for any age really! It is interesting how today's youth see jobs and careers. My son (whos 22) said from the time he was abut 10 that there is no way he wants to sit behind a desk.
