I really struggle with color challenges, but I love seeing what people make using them as inspiration. This is my attempt at one of these challenges, not a 100% happy, but it'll have to do. I've made some many cards using color challenges as inspiration without ever blogging them. I've also followed a sketch and a theme.
My elephant is a stamp from Lawn Fawn. I've used clouds from Hot off the Press, tag and sentiment dies from Dienamics and kites and building dies from Memory Box. Colored with Promarkes.
The paper I received from Sandie (thank you Sandie), ribbon and twine from my stash.
Machine stitching around the edges.
This card is for:
Sketch Saturday - Sketch #402
Colour Q - #331
City Crafter Challenge - #301 Elephants
A super card Pia, such a fabulous tag - I love all of the little details that make up the overall design.

Very cute and lovely card;-))m
ReplyDeleteWell you certainly rocked this colour scheme. Love the cityscape. I can't face more than 3 colours and you got all the blues in here, in a great design too x
ReplyDeleteI have never followed a sketch or a colours combo, but I always think that I must try!! But I look at the challenge's palettes and pics and I always love them :D Your card has a special feel, so quiet and smiling... :) Love very much the embossed panel, this colour is wonderful! And the flying elephant with the kites is a cutie! The grey buildings give elegance to your card, as always your makes aren't too much mawkish even if they have some cute elements!! I must learn... :)
ReplyDeleteMmm agree Apia it's a tricky combo, but think you nailed sometimes you just need to step away from it for a while... Love the tag with its combination of diecuts. Great work!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x

This is so Cute Pia and you have captured the colour combo perfectly..Loz
ReplyDeleteI see a win in the near future...
ReplyDeleteYou used the colors in such a creative way-- who would have thought elephant + kite... And you have my vote for winning at Sketch Saturday. You followed the sketch, but you made it your own. Love that cursive sentiment.
You have done a great job with the colour and sketch combo - this is a fab card Pia :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing take on the sketch! A fantastic card is this!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! How adorable...I cannot help but think of little Dumbo. Ok, maybe the ears are not quite Dumbo's but that joyful smile sure is. Fab design, Pia.

ReplyDeleteThis is s a brilliant card! So imaginative and I love the concept! Thanks so much for playing along at CCCB!!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why you're not pleased with this, as it is just darling. Love your design of the floating Elly, and cute idea to have the kites lifting him off above the buildings. Also loving the embossed blue stars and your fab zigzag stitching. I think you did a fabulous take on both the color & sketch! TFS & have a super week.
ReplyDeletePia, I think you've done such a wonderful job with the color inspiration!! Love the fun city scape with the elephant flying a kite!! :) So cute!! HUGS
ReplyDeleteSuch a brilliant take on our theme and your elephant is a cutie! Thanks so much for joining us this week at CCCB!
ReplyDeleteHmmm what can I say
ReplyDeleteyou are good at using the color combo
and you are good at using the sketch
for me this sketch is difficult
I cant combine with any color challenge
you did so good Pia
but this is not like your style but this is sweet
I like the idea that elephant fly with that kyte
maybe you have to try more and more color challenge
my tip is
if I look color challenge
go to my stack of my stamps
choose one example this blue one can be with CAR and can be also with GEOMETRIC theme
took the stamp and took the color
at my stack of paper I dont have the similar color like at color combo challenge?also I try my best using my Copic or my Inks
sometimes I have no ink no paper no copic marker..
then I run to the chip card collection sometimes the color fit..
and one tip...FILL in your TAG with the color combo..outside the card you can make it stay white..like this card Pia..
I put all my tiny element with the color combo yeah I did not win but I am happy with that all colors inside the TAG
I am honest to you cause you are my sweet friend :))
this card not bad but not you :)

Cute card. I am in love with the background aqua blue mat ...looks like an embossing folder was used...it looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I love how you made this Pia! Love the darling little elephant. I know exactly what you mean about color challenges. I usually avoid them as much as I can LOL. You however rocked this one. Thanks for joining us at Sketch Saturday this week!
ReplyDeleteAw, cute, cute, cute! You seem to enjoy all of the cute critters that I like! Baby elephants are one of my favourites! I don't make a lot of cards with them, but they hold such a warm place in my heart. Adorable little scene card - and I love the stitching!
