Let me be honest. I don't belong to the group of people having a tidy desk. No, far from it. There's stuff all over the place on mine, things I like, that I plan to use soon, new and old, and sometimes all these elements just end up on the same project. It's rare, but it happens. Like with this card. I've combined elements I normally wouldn't and I was a bit daring in adding lots of stuff. But the card is still non lumpy and flat.
So how did this card come to? I was inspired by the theme of vehicles. Normally this word inspire me to make a masculine card, but I had this scrap piece with cars on it and it happened to fall down on my desk where the woman just happened to lay cut out and ready for use. The car die was on my desk too - it's been more than a year since last used. The film strip was already cut - intended but not used for a previous projcect. The same goes with the TH film strip. Lace laying around (on the floor, ahem...), bought on a trip at Easter. New NY cityscape die (Dienamics). Brown DP and the checker pattern one picked from my scrap box. Attached elements using a stapler. Added three wooden stars, just for the sake of reducing the empty space at the top. Lacked a sentiment, used my Dymo.No stamping at all.

Love very much this elegant lady, and the cityscape with the cars and the films strips make for her a perfect scenery!!! So glad to see that you have had the mood to adding lots of stuff! The lace and the little stars add a touch of very pretty and feminine look! You have played so well and... Goal!! :D
I can't have too much little pieces on my desk, because also my cats like a lot playing with papers :D LOL So I put away all the pieces, even those that I plan to use.... again and again...so I have boxes full of pieces and just begun cards ah ah!! :)

Had to smile about the tidy desk syndrome, and if you saw how messy my desk is, you'd wonder how anyone ever works there. However, this is been a splendid effort for you, in scooping up the bits, because you've got a wonderfully interesting and dimensional card. Interesting to read it is still flat for mailing too. Love the classy lady dressed to the nines with the vintage autos, and of course I love the Skyline. Clever to add in the film strip trimming, and ti all works beautifully together. Ditto with her well heeled foot, just stepping onto the delicate black lace. The subtle shades of the colors you chose, work great with all the different images. What a fun card, so best keep the desk just as it is!! TFS & Hugs (PS...if you take off the lady, would work great for masculine too! Heck, even with the lady on it, probably would as well!)
ReplyDeletePia, this is fantastic! What a fun card :)

Oh, Pia- this is so cool! The stars aligned and the pieces fit amazingly well! Masculine cards seen to obvious choice for many vehicle cards, but this is decidedly glamorous and feminine... LOVE LOVE LOVE. Another fave! Xo, have a good weekend!

The only time my desk was tidy was when it first arrived! It might be a mess to some, but, I know were everything is! Well sort of lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat card, you've created a wonderful scene Pia and I LOve your colours.
There's some lovely dies there too.
