Time to celebrate

There are lots of heart and love themed challenges out there, but today I wasn't really in mood for going with reds and pinks or hearts, so I took inspiration from the photo of Color Throwdown.


I also wanted to try and join Time Out's challenge with this inspirational phrase: 'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart.' I chose a stamp I like to use for cards for friends, then I chose a sentiment that included the word time.

I stamped the image, added clear EP and colored in only with orange, then fussy cut it. Then I die cut a black frame, colored the white space inside it with a color I believe is teal, or close to it at least.
I needed go 'ground' the image, so I used a black and white pen to color the floor. Then I stamped the greeting with a Poppy stamp.

    The colour contrasts - the deeper blue between the light coloured image and the black frame - really make this a stand-out card.

    Wonderful CAS design, Pia. Love how you did the floor to ground your image. The little bottle and shoe on the outside of the frame adds the perfect finishing touch. Love it!

    Whilst this may appear simple at first, I can see a lot of thought and design went into it!! Really fab, cheering card! (And I'm very pleased that you've no pink or hearts!). The touches like the hand done floor and limbs out of the frame make for a brilliant card! Wish I could assume her pose for the rest of the day - glass in hand of course!! Enjoy your week. Nicola x

    Oh this is darling! I would have had no clue as to how to use this cute image. You've done a grand job showing the chair with its occupant,in the oval shape, with the blue wall. Love the detail of the bottle on the floor. Clever, well done, and such fun too. TFS & Hugs
