I have two cards to share, for the Twofer Card Challenge #17, which is BEES.
For both cards I used dies from Memory Box. The choice was rather easy as it was the only bee element I found in my stash of rubber stamps and dies. It's quite fiddly to put these bees together, adding the stripes and all. I added glitter glue to the wings and gave the bees a coat of glossy accent as I wanted to make sure every glued element wold stay in place.
I made a birthday card and a 'just because' card.
1) Birthday card
On my first card I used foam stamps from Tim Holtz to ake the flowers and leaves sing black ink and Distress Oxides. The birthday greeting came free with a magazine. I cut the sentiment with a stitched cloud/speech bubble die from MFT. Washi tape strips added to the side to mimic the Sunday Stamps sketch. This card is also for:

2) An uplifting 'just because' card
For my second card I used a sentiment and flower stamps from Penny Black. I had planned to go with no coloring on this one but I couldn't resist adding blue lines around the images to make them stand out a bit more.

ReplyDeleteBoth of your bee cards are adorable!! I love the details with the florals on the first one and the sceond is too cute with the layout design! Great job on the twofers!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou were at the starting gate with your cards this month, Pia, and they are both so pretty! Sorry the bees were a bit fiddly, but they sure turned out to be the stars of your cards!! You nailed the sketch with your birthday card and I love how you balanced your conversation sediment with your gorgeous garden in opposite corners! Likewise, I think you nailed the CTS sketch with your just because design! Excellent idea to highlight the flowers with the blue shading while still allowing the bees to take center stage!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #17! Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeletePia, you are so creative it just amazes me. I look at your cards and say, "why can't you think of something like that?" And then I come up with the same things and you are always finding new ways to make cards that are ta-da.

Two beautiful cards, loving the first so much it is so admirable with the sentiment like that, the gorgeous flower stamp and the wonderful bees, and love the simplicity of your second card with the white and touch of colour of the bees, magnificent.x
ReplyDeleteYour cards turned out wonderfully, Pia. I noticed the blue on your encouragement card right away and think it is the perfect touch for your card! Your birthday card is full of summery fun. Love the flowers, and the speech bubble is the perfect accompaniment to the rest of your design. But those bees look fabulous on both cards! I'd say they were worth the extra work! Thanks for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
ReplyDeleteIt's always a pleasure seeing your twofer cards, Pia! Genius idea to use the cloud bubble talk die going to the flowers! And your delightful bees are so sweet with their glittered wings. I've never thought of separating wings like that before, and making them stand out. Your CAS creation is DARLING! Wonderful sentiments in both. Happy Tuesday, Pia! hugs, de
