Flowers for Christmas and a birthday

Here are my two cards for the Twofer Card Challenge #27, where the theme is FLOWERS.
For both cards I used a stamp from Concord & 9th, I made a Christmas card and a birthday card.

1) CHRISTMAS CARD
Here I used the flower stamp as poinsettias. The full leaves are from the same stamp set, the open leaves are from a Christmas stamp set from Kort&Godt. I used a white gel pen on the red flowers and I also added some gold glitter glue. Blue DI was brushed on along the edges of the card and was used for splatter. The sentiment is from another Concord & 9th set.

This card is also for:
Krafty Chicks - #507 Christmas
The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - #71 Anything Christmas Goes

2) BIRTHDAY CARD
This card turned out very different than I had planned. I heat embossed the flowers with white embossong powder, then I added pink DI. I had planned to add a sentiment only. But I couldn't find one fitting to avoid covering the embossed part. So I added a circle. It seemed a bit bland, so I die cut some leaves and flowers. I didn't add the flowers as I found an image sitting on my desk I decided to use. It's from ADFD and was colored with Promarkers and I added glitter glue. So instead of having the flower stamp as a main feauture it become part of the background.
This card is also for:
Moving along with the Times - #118 Flowers
Seize The Birthday - #190 Birthday + Option: Monochromatic

  3. Wow, Pia, that flower works so perfectly as an embossed background image on your gorgeous feminine birthday card and as bright red poinsettias on your Christmas card! I love the designs of both! I especially love that the birthday card is one of those where everything just sort of fell together as it was meant to be! Take care and continue to keep safe. Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #27! Hugs, Darnell

  7. Two fabulous cards Pia, a great idea to make the flowers the focal point on one and the background on the other, even if that wasn't your original plan!
