Birds X 2

Here are my two cards for the Twofer Card Challenge, where the theme is BIRDS.
For both cards I used a stamp set from Hot off the Press - Sweet Tweets - that came fee with a magazine several years ago. I made a celebration card and a Christmas card.

1) CELEBRATION CARD

For this card I used 5 out of the 6 stamps from the freebie set, and a swirl stamp from a 7gypsies set. The frame die is from Lawn Fawn. In retrospect I could have tried using a colored ink instead, but black and white does not go out of style.

This card is also for:
Addicted to Stamps and More - #409 Any Occasion
Creative Knockouts - #410 Celebrations

2) CHRISTMAS CARD

For this card I used one of the birds twice and one of the birdhouses from the freebie stamp set. The die cut leaves are Concord & 9th, the background is embossed with a folder from Spellbinders. Three pearls and a Christmas greeting in Norwegian.

This card is also for:
Shopping Our Stash - #449 Christmas in July
Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog - #36 Anything Goes

  2. I love black and white and lately I’m often tempted not to colour cards. Perhaps my mind needs clarity.
Love both your creations, and the pop of green in the second one is a great choice!

  4. Two very striking cards Pia.
    I LOve them both.
Sometimes when we get freebies? We never know if they will be used.
But, I find if kept they always find a place on our cards.

  9. You've created so much interest with your designs by leaving one completely black and white and the other mostly black and white, Pia! You're right, it never goes out of style. I love the stylized flourishy bird you chose for your prompt, which looks great as part of both your designs! Thank you for playing in TCC #40! Hugs, Darnell

  13. I'm really enjoying the black and white on your first card, Pia. It's very definitely classic, and you're right when you say that that color combination never goes out of style. It's a very sweet set, too! Love the greenery you've added on your Christmas card. It pulls the eye in, and helps to make this nice and festive! Great cards. Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Bev
