Birthday card for Nonni

I made this card for Nonni's birthday, which is today. She's on several DT, but I met through Inkspiriational, a challenge blog I've been following since the start.

You can see Nonni's beautiful work on her blog Korttikarkuri. I'd describe Nonni's style as mainly CAS and colorful. She's made a lot of cards using some really cute owl and bird images, so that was what I had in mind making this card for her.

I started paper piecing this bird, made the background and suddenly realized I had used the colors of this fortnight's challenge over at Ink! So I'll be entering it there as well.

The bird is made with a stamp from Papermania, the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, papers are Doodlebug Design. I also added some yellow and orange pearls.

    Such a cute and colourful creation Pia. Thank you for your kind comments on my Candle sweetie. I should have said in my write up not to use a scented Candle as they tend to be too wet.

    This is so striking - the bold colours with the simple shapes really draw the eye. I love how the circle and the bird are going off the page and I love that little cluster of yellow dots.
