World Animal Day

Hello! I'm here to show you my DT card for Humor me Wednesday over at Catch the Bug, featuring an image called Autumn Critter Stack 02. I chose yesterday's World Animal Day as theme.

I went with a clean design and some watercoloring. I haven't invested in any real watercolors yet, but I use my Distress Ink pads, stamp them onto an acryllic bloc, add water and use a brush - it works for me. I used my brush to add some splatters too.
I added the panel onto orange card stock, mounted it onto burlap DP as a frame and machine stitched with white thread. The sentiment was part of a freebie set that came with a magazine recently.

This card is also for:
Inky Chicks - #73 Animals
Cards in Envy - Frame (burlap paper frame)
ABC Challenge - Q is for Quick

  4. I didn't know that yesterday was the Animal's day. This image remember me the Brema's musicians, a famous kid's tale. :D Adorable critters!
Your watercolouring looks very pretty, mine isn't good in small images, I'm not too much accurate :D
Love the clever idea of burlap frame, it's rustic and very dimensional, just perfect to add texture to a CAS!

  10. I do love real water colours but was given them as a pressie but must admit I don't use as often as I like. However you do a superb job with the distress ink and as always I do love your use of texture. Thank you for visiting my blog so much Pia. I have not been so well so I have missed quite a lot of commenting but will be back soon x

  27. OMG, I love these crazy critters saying happy birthday! (And... you know I, like you, appreciate the card that can go to any person, any gender, any age, any temperment!) No watercolors? So, we've discussed this before: gelatos and Distress crayons... can you use gelatos to sort of scribble on a pad and add water for watercoloring? You did a great job with DIs... I do that too. Otherwise I have a Loew Cornell set I've had since college...
