Card Kit Swap with Nonni and Marina - We're preparing for Christmas #3

I'm doing a "Card Kit Swap" with Nonni of Nonni's Handmade Cards and Marina of My Perfect Life. Each month one of us sends the other two identical kits and we make 4 cards each using mainly the same supplies, but we can add some of our own stash too as we're keeping it really simple, fun and stress-free.
I made the kit this time, it contained 2 patterned papers, 2 embossed panels (Tim Holtz EFs), a stamped snowman (North Star stamps), various small stamped and die cut images (Hero Arts), a die cut wreath (Hero Arts), reindeer (Kort&Godt) and children (Kaboks). None of us have included sentiments before, but I did add some die cut and DYMO made ones I love to use myself.

Here's a photo of the kit:

Card #1: Snowman
The image and sentiment are from my kit. I colored the image using Promarkers. I masked it and sponged the background with blue DI. Then I added drops of water and dried them gently off to make the snow. A die cut lamp post was used as well.
This card is for: Sweet Stampers - #1 Christmas

Card #2: Winter scene
I used the embossed panel, wreath and stamped images from my kit. From my own stash I added stamped snowflakes and sentiments as well as some silver string.
This card is for: Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog - Anything Christmas Goes

 Card #3: Children
I used the the embossed panel and design paper from my kit, as well as the die cut children. A  snowflake (Marianne die) and a button onto which I attached a tag and sentiment and there's some of that silver string again. The DP is cut using a stitched frame die from Dienamics.
This card is for: Brown Sugar - #224 Anything Goes

Card #4: Reindeer
The DP, reindeer and sentiment are all from the kit. I've held on to some pearl swirls for so long and decided now was the time to use one. I also added some stamped and die cut pine branches.
This card is for: Christmas Card Challenges - #48 Glitter
Posts with more than one card tend to be heavy and difficult to comment on, but I'd love to hear what card is our favorite and why. I promise - no hard feelings at all, I appreciate an honest feedback:)

  3. Wow Pia. You've outdone yourself with these cards, they are all SO GREAT! Your use of dies is amazing (that wreath card, wow!) and I wish I could embellish as well as you do... The card with the children silhouette for example -so well done embellishing it with the snowflakes and the die cut tag for sentiment. And how about the deer card... It's so luxurious! I'll anyway choose the snowman card for my favorite: I love the black contrasts you added to the card (with the lamp post and demo sentiment), it gives the card a completely different look. I love the sky as well. Thank you so much for this fun swap, I've had so much fun and have been very inspired by you and Marina!

  5. WOW...all four are fabulous, each in their own way! #1 The snowman is too cute, love how you did the background and the added lamppost is perfect! #2 The wreath frames it so nicely. #3 I love the scene, from the falling snow ef, to the trees and snowflakes and of course the kids sledding! #4 I'm really liking the deer heads this year! Love the gold glitter and the red swirls! Awesome job!

  7. You aren't happy of these cads, but they are all stylish as is your own style, Pia!
I have two favourites; the second one with that gorgous wreath and the winter scene, the deer seems really come out of the wood! And LOVE the third one, because of its scen; it is so sweet and clean, such a fab silouette and the embossed snowfall is a perfect background for it!The embellishment is adorable!

  9. Back again...I looked at their blogs and their cards are fabulous, too! Love how you can have all the same elements and make them so different! Thanks for the offer, I have a few different deer head cut files! But I will let you know if I would like something in the future (and you can let me know if you want something I have! As for the sleigh on my card, it is all colored. The sleigh has some lines printed on it, so maybe that is what you are seeing...hard to tell sometimes in pictures.

  10. What a great kit this was and what wonderful cards you made with it.
Card 1 – I love the soft background and the grey scarf and gloves – are they paper-pieced?
Card 2 – The die cut trees and deer look fabulous grouped together like that and I really like the overall forest theme.
Card 3 – I love how you’ve framed this and the button and tag embellishment is gorgeous.
Card 4 – I love how you’ve added all those swirly bits behind the deer-head – I think this must be my favourite.
Thanks for a great kit and a great swap!

  17. These are four fabulous cards Pia! I think it's very hard to pick just one favourite - so I'm picking two! The first is card 2 - I love wreath cards and winter scenes and this is a beautiful example of those and card 4 because of the colours, composition and gorgeous reindeer as the focal point. I have to say though that ALL of them are superb!

  21. Hi Pia, thanks for your lovely comment on my blog! :-)
Ooh I love all these cards…. the snowman is so sweet - I really love the sky background with the swirling snow… such a great effect! the 2nd card is so elegant and classy…Love the musical paper and silver embellies on the 3rd card and Wow! what a fab die cut image of the children...
And finally the gorgeous reindeer card is so beautiful and elegant. I love the pearl swirls with the gold reindeer… they are perfect together.
Which one is my favourite? well for me, it has to be the 3rd card… I love the layout - it's so perfectly balanced... but also the silhouette takes me right back to my childhood when it snowed in the 60s… my brother would push me round the roads on his home made sledge… hardly any cars back then!! Lol
    Hope you are well
Love and hugs, Sue B xx
