Over at LIM there's a challenge of using grey and yellow. One of those color combos I love to see but struggle a bit with myself. In general I seem to be a " three colors" kind of crafter, less or more and I consider it a real challenge...
And here's the thing about CAS, you don't want to add too much. Here I used a stencil on the background, and before I did the overall impression was probably more CAS than the finished project..
The flowers are fussy cut out from a stamped Hero Arts background. I used DIs and gelatos to color.
This card is for:

Pia, I would never guess that you struggle with this color combination because your card is beautifully done. Pretty textures and beautiful flowers. You've created a marvelous mixed media piece of artwork. Hugs, de
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card, Pia I really like that colour combo!
ReplyDeleteWill drop you an email soon as I cannot remember if I told you that the cruise is cancelled now. But we will still do it in the future. Will send email seeon.
This really does look lovely, Pia. The stenciling is a dramatic backdrop to those gorgeous yellow flowers and I love how you've left the sentiment corner with clean background. Yeah, maybe having the stencilling on a smaller area would be a more CAS effect overall, but honestly this is a stunner and looks so fabulous, I think you made the right call for this card <3 Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)
ReplyDeleteSo subtle and delicate!

ReplyDeleteI recognize this flower! :) I actually don't have this stamp anymore, I sold it in a crafty fb group... I used it so much I got "worn out with it. However, it looks lovely here, what a great idea to cut flowers from the whole bg stamped image, great thinking! I also love your stenciling. Have a good weekend! xxx
