Playing with a sketch...

It's been a while since I last used a sketch. Sketch challenges used to be my number 1 favorite. I guess they still are, when I have enough time to play.

This sketch really appealed to me and I went with a nautical inspired card, using designer papers, kraft paper, an ephemera anchor, cheese cloth, enamel dots and a sticker sentiment. A quick and easy card,

July Card Chain Challenge Reveal 2025

Here's my card for The Card Chain Challenge July reveal. If you want to join the fun for next month you need to sign up here until the 6th. You don't have to join every month, it's up to you.
My card went to Linda in Michigan USA and she kindly took the photo for me as I totally forgot. Tis was during a heat wave on Oslo and I was rushing to get on the bus to go to my sister who lives by the sea. I love Oslo, but not in 30 degrees celsius.
I was inspired by the sketch and made a staircase with an embossing folder for my gnome to sit on.

This month I'm the lukcy receiver of a happy mail from Wendy in Ireland. Thanks Wendy! And next month I'll return the favor as I  signed up behind you:)

INK #341 HOT

At Inkspirational our new challenge theme was chosen by our DT member Marlena and she has chosen HOT as our theme this fortnight.
I chose to make a maritime summer scene. I used a die from Mama Elephant and added a DP behind the circle opening and used elements from Craft o'Clock, a die cut sentiment and red gems from Pinkfresh design.

Check out the challenge blog to see what what my INK-teamies have made too!

Seaside/Summertime

I haven't had enough crafting time this year, most of what I have made and posted have been DT assignments, but today I have a card made for a few challenges in mind.

I have some zip bags filled with stamped images that I have already colored up but not yet used, and this nautical image was found in one of those bags. I added it on top of a card base with a stencilled background in brown. The stencil I used is from Aall&Create.
I cut a few banners and used some old postmark stamps.
I'm going to try and make more cards with images I have ready as I need to stock up on cards:)

Stripes and Lighthouse

I love the ocean and I love making masculine cards, and I am always in need of them, so I chose to make a nautical design.
The striped paper is from Maja Design and the die cuts are from Scrapboys. I added cheese cloth and a sentiment from Tim Holtz.I used my rounded corner punch.

TioT - Make it Masculine

Over at Try it on Tuesday our new challenge theme is a favorite of mine, which is "Make it Masculine". Having 5 nephews and no nieces have resulted in a much larger need for masculine makes than feminine ones over the years.

I love the ocean and so I went with a nautical design, using scrap paper strips, precut die cuts from Scrapboys, enamel dots, gauze and a sentiment from Tim Holtz. The layout was inspired by a sketch, another challenge theme favorite of mine.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my TioT teamies have made and to get more inspiration.

Sailing

My favorite cards to make are masculine ones, and I love nautical themed cards. For this card I started off using several different colored inks to make the panel.
I didn't use any masking technique, I just stamped the images after inking and colored with Promarkers and a white gel pen on top.
I used 3 stamps from Heartfelt Creations, a postcard stamp I believe is from TPC and the border with different plants came free with a magazine ages ago.
The sentiment is a die cut one in Norwegian, I love the font and I think you'll see this on several cards in the future.

INK #265 - Use something free or gifted

At Inkspirational we have a new challenge and this time I was the one to pick the theme. I want you to use something gifted to you, e.g. a birthday present or sent to you by another blogger, or something free, like a freebie of some sorts - you get the idea.

I used an embossing folder that came free with a magazine, Heartfelt Creations stamps I got for Christmas and some twine that was sent to me by a fellow cardmaking blogger.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

A nautical card for a man

My favorite cards to make are masculine ones, and here I went with a nice and simple version with a nautical theme. I do love to be by the sea and feel the salty air.
I used stamps from 2 different Heartfelt Creations sets and colored with Promarkers. Paper is Maja Design, sentiment is Penny Black and the twine was a gift some years ago. Stitched dies are MFT.
I loved this week's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, this is one I think I'll use for more projects....

If you are regular visitor you know I love playing with sketches. Lately they have been of much help to get mojo flowing again.

For this card I used 4 different DPs, an old postcard stamp from TPC Studio and new stamps from Heartfelt Creations. Twine and anchor metal charm from my stash.

INK #242-Maritime

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have a word prompt: MARITIME.

I wanted to try a collage style card, using many of my maritime inspired stamps. Most of them are from two different sets from Graphic 45, but I've also used a script stamp from Kort og Godt, a map one from Prima, a fishing net from KaiserCraft and a sentiment from TPC Studio. I believe I have used 18 stamps in total, which would be a record for me! I used 5 different inks: Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Desert Sand and 3 Distress Oxides: Tattered rose, Walnut stain and Speckled egg. I added a little bit of bling to avoid it being totally flat yeat heavy feeling.
Please head over to the challenge blog to see the wonderful makes of my INK-teamies.

Boats with a bunny and a bear

Today I've made a card using an unused stamp set from Lawn Fawn. The boats, the lighthouse, bunny, bear, anchor and stars are all part of this stamp set.
I paperpieced the boats and lighthouse and used a striped DP as background, all papers are from Maja Design.
I die cut some waves using dies from Poppystamps. The speech bubble and frame dies are MFT ones.
I used a birthday sentiment in Norwegian.

This card is for:
Cardz 4 Guyz - #242 On, In or By The Sea
Cutie Pie Challenge - #146 BUNNIES, BEARS AND OTHER B's (Bunny, bear, boat, blue)
