Paris and Venice

Twofers has the theme of cities this fortnight. I made two A2 sized cards.

Paris card:
The Eiffel Tower is a clear stamp from Panduro. I stamped with black ink and layered the image onto black and white panels. The background is made with a map stamp from Prima, and it actually includes France on it. I stamped with white ink onto black card stock.
I wanted to include a little color to the card, so I used a twine I received from Kim which has the colors of the French flag and it's also my NBUS element. I attached a die cut tag to it and stamped "lots of hugs" using a Technique Tuesday set.

This card is for these challenges:
Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5

Where the HeART is - Add some text

Venice card:
This is a one layer card I made using a stamp from Penny Black. I masked off the white space and stamped my image. I stamped the image onto some left over paper and made a mask before I started inking the sky and water. Then I colored the image using Promakers and a white gel pen and I left the building uncolored. I left out a sentiment, I kind of regretted that I included one on my previous one layer card, so didn't want to make the same mistake.

This card is for these challenges:
Inkspirational - One layer card (2nd entry)
TIME OUT Challenges - #39 Make Your Mark

  13. Your black & white card are always so classy, Pia! Also this one looks great and the map stamp is just perfect as background!! The touch of colour wit the twine is very elegant and matches so well with the tower Eiffel!
For the Venice card, so elegant and beautiful, I have been impressed by your technique. How many work on it! You have masked any element so well, for have this result!! Fabulous! Love the contrast with the red dress and the sky is just wonderful!! This card remember me a china paint. You know the India ink? A draw made by a nip dipped in the liquid ink... Your stamp seems made with Indian ink, so it seems a china paint. In Italy "china" is "Indian ink". I don't know if what I wrote is enough clear for you,it's difficult explain me... :/
Anywere, well done with your Venice card!! :D

  18. Two really stunning cards Pia. I love the way the twine is the only colour on your otherwise black and white card, and the fact that you've left the buildings uncoloured on the Venice card makes the image really stand out. Fantastic. Thanks for joining us at Twofers.

  36. I like that you made a olc that isn't cas (I do like cas cards but I also like variety!). Masking off the edges is really effective and I love your vibrant colours. Thank you for joining us at Inkspirational Challenges. Come back next time! Marina

I really like your elegant Paris card too. I don't think there is a more iconic landmark than the Eiffel tower - and I still felt that after 2.5 hours queuing outside it!

  37. My challenge winners are chosen randomly, but as for the other challenges you entered, Pia, I think it would be a shame if you didn't win all of them on merit! It's clear that you thought out both of city card designs and then flawlessly executed them! You never cease to leave me in awe! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #5!! Hugs, Darnell
