Happy Saturday and Halloween!
I'm here to share my DT card for the new challenge over at Catch the Bug, where we have a RECIPE CHALLENGE this week - use black, white and a touch of bright.
I used an image of a whale which is part of a set - you can find it here - colored with my Promarkers. I cut it using a circle die from Memory Box and added it slightly over the edge of the card base.
The DP is a leftover piece from a Graphic45 sheet, I machine stitched with white thread at the top and bottom. I added 2 enamel dots and the black paper is also a DP which I embossed with chevron pattern using a folder from Darice.
This card is also for these challenges:
Creative Card Crew - #99 Off The Edge
Dream Valley Challenges - Use the Color Blue
Eureka Stamps - Pets & Animals
4 Crafty Chicks - #270 Anything Goes
Ooh this is a fab design Pia… I really like the cute image with the sentiment… and the stitching looks awesome… also love the candi which reminds me of bubbles! :-))

Aw, he's just too cute to be scary! Love the way his little self is floating in the waves and really like the circle effect you've done. The blue gingham looks so good with the dark chevron embossing (which really looks like rich old leather- so great texture!). Also liked the 'for real' stitching lines. Just a delightful card with loads of wonderful details. Also liked the dark chocolate tone with the paler blue. Not a combo I'd think to try, but very effective together. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteI feel hugged! Darling card, Pia! Makes me feel so happy!
ReplyDeleteFlawless stitching, Pia. The simple design perfectly compliments the whale.

Such a nice card... the "off the edge" element is perfectly placed-- just the right amount off! Of course the whale is adorable, but I think my fave part of this one is your black chevron-embossed background... I think it is the perfect "tone" for the card. See, that's why you are on DT's... people like me need to see your little touches like that!
ReplyDeleteThis is just so well put together. I love the depth provided by the black and the way you've put all those shapes together so beautifully.
