Color - Christmas in July - Day 7

Today is the final day of the fun Christmas in July event over at Catch the Bug. 1 week, 7 challenges, different prizes - you can read more about it here.

Today it's time for a color challenge. Those are the ones I find the most tricky, but I seemed to have all the colors in my collection of DIs so I decided to use them for water coloring. I used a cropped version of today's Bugaboo freebie image - I tend to forget that's an option.
After having colored by image I used a Tim Holtz die to make the background, I used a Lawn Fawn sentiment stamped with red ink and added 3 sequins from my stash.

This card is also for:
Challenge Up Your Life - #45 Watercolor (W1 of 2)
Addicted to Stamps and More - #202 Make Your Mark
Christmas Cards All Year Round - Anything Goes
Come and Get It - Make your own background

  1. It's so different from your usual style, except for the 3 sequins and the stitched border that are your trademark :D Very colourful but clean and simple, and the frilly sentiment looks wonderfully with the cute deer and your amazing handmade background!!! How you have made it? You have stenciled the paper with the TH die?

  11. Hi, Pia! Your card is so cute! Love the cute image! Great sequin placement too! This was a hard challenge (for me) to incorporate all of those colours! I managed to do 6 of the 7 challenges this time so I'm quite pleased with myself! I have 6 more cards made and now I won't be so rushed in November/December! Earlier this year I was making two cards a month and then got off track so these challenges are great inspiration! Enjoy your weekend!

  21. Superb water color on this goofy reindeer. His muzzle looks so velvet-y. Love the stack of presents, and the background provides a wonderful backdrop for the colors in the motif. Sequins add some fun bling too. Great work on this one, Pia. TFS & Hugs
