Urban life 1950s style

Urban. Well, yes, however 1950s style. Made it a shaker card. Used my Memory Box building die and a car die I got as a gift from my sister. A piece of washi to ground the scene. Upper part was stenciled as it felt empty. Sequin flowers. Red and black cardstock to match the woman's outfit.

This card is for:

      Muse and masculine

I haven't played with Muse Card challenges for quite a while, but I do love to visit the blog and see how others get inspired by the "muse" card. Kim is a new muse and she did this ultra cute card box that I wanted to case, but going with a simpler A2 design.

I was inspired by the outdoors scene with animals, trees and the banners. My stamps are from Lawn fawn. I colored the images with Promarkers.
I didn't find a gingham paper in my stash as soon as I had so hoped, so I gave up and picked a woodpatterned one instead. I think it added a masculine feel to my card.

      This card is for:
Muse Card Club - Challenge #217
Passion For Promarkers Challenge - #396 Make It Manly
      C.R.A.F.T. - #417 Father's Day/Male

      Hello friend

For this card I was inspired by this week's photo over at Color Throwdown.

I used a flower from a Prima set, stamped randomly and colored the flowers. Then I took my new Tim
Holtz stencil and just inked in a few of the white spaces. I added some green splatters, gems and a die cut sentiment I got from Monika a little while back. I also stamped the word friend.

      This card is for:
      Color Throwdown - #444
TIME OUT Challenges - #84 'Flowers and Friends make life a garden'

        Gold fish

Today is "Oldie but Goodie" day over at Catch the Bug and I've made a card with an image from the underwater set from Bugabo.

My nephew, Noah, turns 10, he has an aquarium and is really into this, so I made an aquarium inspired card for his birthday.
I added two fish colored with Promarkers and a DI sponged  background, added sequins and bobbles made with a Memory Box die.
I used dies from Dinemics to make the shaker frame and added cheesecloth underneath along with some green ribbon.
The card is cut with die from Kort&Godt.

        This card is also for:
        Allsorts - Happy Birthday

        Bingo - dog and chair

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug and this week it's BINGO TIME!

I used the top row of sparkle, stitching and sentiment,
I used two images from the Bugaboo store, the dog and chair element, and I merged the two images and colored it with Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs. I masked the image and made m own background, using a Promarker to color the floor and DI Milled Lavender for the walls. Then I made the wall paper using a flower stamp with silver ink and gave the centres a touch of glitter. I used silver thread to machine stitch around the edges.
I haven't been around much since last weekend, MIL is on a one week visit, so limited time for blog visits and crafting.

        This card is for:
        Fab 'n' Funky - #351 Create a Background
Addicted to Stamps and More - # 242 Make Your Mark

        Christmas Card Box Holder

Today it's my turn to show you an 'Anything but a card' project over at Catch the Bug.
I've made a card box holder before and found it to be very useful when giving card sets as gifts. So here's one for a Christmas themed set.
I used a stocking image, colored with Promarkers. I used an old DP with stockings from my stash, added a few die cut pine branches and a die cut bow. The label us also die cut and says Christmas post.

I'd like to enter my card box holder into these challenges as well:

        Funny pup

Today we have a new sketch challenge over at Catch the Bug. Sketch challenges are my favorites, and the more you play with sketches, the more confident you'll be moving the sketch around. Like here, I turned it upside-down and then mirrored it. See? The thing about sketches, I think they're great for giving you inspiration as for layout, without limiting you too much.

I used the image Funny pup. Colored it with Spectrum Noir and Promarker pens. A strip of paper, flowers from my stash and a birthday greeting in Norwegian and border stamped with white ink on kraft.

        This card is also for:
        C.R.A.F.T. - #415 Birthday & A Blog Hop
Seize The Birthday - Birthday + Optional Topping of Creatures/Animals

        Dog walker

Happy Friday! I'm here to show you my card featuring this week's Freebie Friday -  you can pick it up at no cost in the Bugaboo store.

I used my Promarkers to color the image and I used a self made stencil to make the cloudy sky.
The sentiment is in Norwegian and translates "There are no perfect lives, but we can fill our lives with perfect moments".

        Yellow and grey

Over at LIM there's a challenge of using grey and yellow. One of those color combos I love to see but struggle a bit with myself. In general I seem to be a " three colors" kind of crafter, less or more and I consider it a real challenge...
And here's the thing about CAS, you don't want to add too much. Here I used a stencil on the background, and before I did the overall impression was probably more CAS than the finished project..
The flowers are fussy cut out from a stamped Hero Arts background. I used DIs and gelatos to color.

        This card is for:
Less Is More - Yellow and Grey

        Wings and spring

This week's color scheme over at Color Throwdown I found both  springlike and romantic, so I took the opportunity to make a card that could be used for an anniversary or a wedding as I don't have an such cards in my stash right now.

I used DIs and gelatos with water to color the image, some WoS to add sparkle (not visible here) and a sentiment that would fit the occasions mentioned above. I used my own cut stencil to make the cloudy sky and a flower stamp to make the flowery ground. The stamp with the two birds is from Whimsy Stamps. I used a Tom Ho,tz die for the bow and added a pearl.

        This card is for:
        Color Throwdown - #441
Whimsy Stamps - #94 Anthing Goes with a twist of Spring
Cut it Up - #121 Wings

        Another Christmas card done

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug and this week it's ANYTHING GOES! I took the opportunit to make one more Christmas card for my stash, using the image Xmas Blocks Trio.

I colored my image using Promarkers, stamped a sentiment, then mounted it onto a panel of red mirri card. The background I made myself using white ink and stamps, both from Hero Arts.

        This card is for:

        High Heels

Happy Friday! I'm here to show you my card featuring this week's Freebie Friday -  you can pick it up at no cost in the Bugaboo store.

I used my Promarkers to color the shoes in different shades of peach and grey, and I chose those colors and silver for the rest of my card.

The striped paper is sticker paper and the embossed background was covered with silver gelato. The EF came free with a magazine Doily from my stash, banner dies from Dienamics and I used one of my oldest die sets to cut the image.

        This card is also for:

        Kissing technique

Just a quick post as I want to meet the deadline over at Color Throwdown which closes in an hour or so.

I used yellow ink on the solid stamp and used the "kissing" technique with purple ink for the script as well as the layers of the roses.
I embossed just a strip of the paper, added purple and green splatter with a brush and some yellow pearls. Sentiment stamped with purple ink.

        This card is for:
TIME OUT Challenges - #82 Flowers with the optional twist of Kissing
        Color Throwdown - #440

        CASE and Make a wish

City Crafter Challenge Blog is celebrating its 7th birthday by doing CASE challenges throughout the month of April.
This week we're CASEing Marina's card. I was inspired by her choice of colors, layout and use of a partial image.

I used my Prima Doll stamp and paper pieced her outfit in brown colors. I know Marina also loves to paper piece. Then I stamped a sentiment using a LOTV stamp and added a few pearls.

I might be back later today with another card...
