Coffee Mugs

To be honest, this card was a struggle. The reason I persisted is because Twofers has a color challenge this fortnight, using blue, green and yellow.
Color challenges are the ones I find the hardest. And I actually might not have followed the theme entirely as my chevron embossed paper is white, sprinkled with blue mist. But this is it. At least I got to use my NBUS stamps from LawnFawn which I've had for a year or so and scrap pieces of paper. I also added three bling. I used the sketch over at Retro Sketches as my starting point.

This card is for these challenges:
Twofers -#6 Color challenge (blue, green, yellow)
Retro Sketches - #187 Sketch

  1. I hate coffee! But I love your card! You've made coffee cute and unsmelly. I love the strips of paper with the 'birthday hugs'. I also find colour challenges the hardest- especially those with four or five specific shades (often with special names like Barbados Blue etc) - they scare me.

  2. Love your card, so much lovely p0attern and texture and those seriously cute coffee cups. And yes, white is fine, especially when it's misted with blue! Thanks for your continued support at Twofers, we love seeing your work

Love that you used that Retro sketch with a non halloween related theme as well. Overall it is a great card thank you for your continued support Pia it means a lot to us at Twofers. XOXO Zoe

  22. Pia, I think this is really brilliant my friend!! :) I adore Lawn Fawn and this set is so fun!! I think you've done a wonderful job with the colors too!! I used to struggle with colors and I sometimes with sketches for that matter, but I've learned it's a "guide" not a hard fast rule...just like the sketches and it helped me to relax a bit more with it! Don't know if you feel the same or not, but I love your card! :)

  26. Would never guess that color challenges are hard for you...as you always do them superbly. The use of the coffee mugs would have been my sticking spot, but they look perfect against the color borders. I love the border design with your chevron embossing, and again, love the spatters over that. Liked the way your pearls echo the spatters, and this is a great card. I might even have another cup of coffee while finishing up with the commenting. Off to get a closer look at your Autumn sunflowers in the previous post! TFS & Hugs.
