Oriental inspired

There's a new challenge over at  Outlawz Twisted Thursday and this week it's time for a new ANYTHING GOES. I've used an image from Stitchy Bear Designs - our Sponsor for October - colored with Promarkers and gel pens.
There's plenty of gold on this card, kind of screams at you I think. I used an embossing folder on the background, then sprinkled gold EP on top and heat set. I did the same with the dragonflies made with Penny Black dies and the sentiment from LOTV - a freebie that came with a magazine at some point. The die cut layers in the middle are made with black and gold paper, I used the dies I got from Mervi.

This card is for these challenges:
Ooh La La Creations - Embossing (heat and dry)
Shopping Our Stash - #225 - Go Paperless
Artistic Inspirations - Anything Goes with Twist of Birthdays
Crafting for all Seasons - #113 All Dressed Up/Girly

  1. Here is a new idea to me, and one I hope you don't mind me trying - heat embossing dry-embossed card. It looks fabulously rich and ornate. I love the oriental look and this is gorgeous.

  20. Pia, this is so gorgeous! Like some of the other commenters, I had never thought of heat embossing over a dry embossed surface. I will definitely have to give that a try. It looks stunning here on your card! If you are interested, Our Daily Bread's challenge this week is to use dry and heat embossing, so you could enter your card there, as well.

  37. Never too much gold... and if there is such a thing, you did it just right! Question-- I've noticed you've embossed dry-embossed images before: do you just sprinkle EP on there, or do you add an embossing powder fixative first? Well, I love this card, I love the oriental theme, and I'm off now to check out your other stuff... looks like you've been a busy bee!
