Boy and stocking

I haven't made many Christmas cards so far this year, I need an average of about 5 a month and I'm behind. This card is more embellished than what I normally make, not exactly according to my goal of keeping postage costs down this year, but oh well...

Over at Twofers there's an anything goes challenge (clear or rubber stamps only) with an optional twist of using your oldest stamp. I went back to February 2012, when I started my blog, and I saw this stamp had been used for one of my posts that month, so if it's not THE oldest it's an early one. You can see my old card here.

The image is a North Star one, the background with script is one from Kort&Godt, both Norwegian stamp companies. I used old paper DI while the image was still inside of the Spellbinder die.

The embellies are made using dies from Marianne, Whiff of Joy and Kort&Godt and a punch from Martha Stewart. Fun foam, vellum and paper left overs were used.
The pompon ribbon I believe came free with a magazine, glitter gold enamel dots from my stash.

This card is for:
Twofers - #14 Anything Goes (clear/rubber stamps only)
Rudolph Days Challenge - February
Winter Wonderland - Must use a sentiment (I used a die cut Christmas sentiment in Norwegian)
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - Use a sentiment

Funny Bunnies

I'm here to share my DT card for the new "Stella Says Sketch" challenge that starts today over at Catch the Bug.

I used an image called Funny Bunny - funny bunny babies andcolored it with Promarkers. The image has been cut using a Lawn Fawn die and I used an Easter sentiment that was part of a freebie set with a magazine. Yellow DP with spots, flowers from Storyteller. I added jute paper to a yellow panel and stitched a double border of zigzags using yellow thread.

This card is also for:
Crafting for all Seasons - #120 Three Of A Kind (flowers, bunnies)

Birthday monster!

It's Thursday and time for an OLDIE BUT GOODIE over at Catch the Bug. The image is called "Heart Monster" and I colored him up with Promarkers, added glossy accent to the hearts and added stickers to make a birthday sentiment in Swedish as this is going to be sent to my hubby's newphew who'll turn 18 in March.
The background I made using stamps from Panduro, Marianne and Prima, using grey and black inks, being inspired by the photo over at "TIME Out". I used number dies from Memory Box and cut out "18" and used the the inlaid technique.
I added the panel onto silver card stock and machine sticthed around the edges using white thread.
This card is also for:
TIME OUT Challenges - #50 Photo Inspiration
Tuesday Throwdown - #282 Create Your Own Background
Allsorts - Birthday wishes

Big catch

Over at Outlawz Twisted Thursday we have a new challenge for you and this week it's ANYTHING GOES. our sponsor for February - Make it Crafty. I didn't use a sponsor image for my card, but a decoupage sheet that came free with a magazine some years back. My father's birthday is just around the corner and this card suits his sense of humour.
http://api.ning.com/files/cKnzGdTqAJ7FN7pWyEzkjaVwuec2ZY48OPgIhejuEy9LSadWVE9jNZy5XO5iH1G49KhN8TrbKkHc0Zd2cpWTtU5LLQprteoa/MakeitCraftybanner.jpg)The image was quite big (A5 size?) but I trimmed it to fit on a square card 6*6 inches. Details have been popped on foam. I added Wink of Stella to the water, glossy accent to the small fish and water splatter and doodled lines along the edges. The cutting took some time, otherwise a rather quick make.

This card is also for:
Inkspirational - Pop (decoupage layers popped on foam)

Portrait

I was so lucky to win a gift certificate from Sassy Studio and this is my first time using one of these images. I just couldn't resist this portrait and I'm sure I'm going to use this image many more times in the future. I colored the image using Promarkers and added some pearls as well.
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIeEXf9mPwOZJCzAtF5ndUyZI-pHZsV4l8Z6P-evj4OI5PkXFJF7AQiI0NHX2r80cdHJtdgvCtKjPlQFnoL9WDe2nnReUB5qYS4StrrblfFJzr8919N3z5OEjwi0WY0dznLQlft5taBz42/s1600/ssc120.pngI was inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps. I used left over pieces of DPs from different brands, stitched oval and banner dies from Dienamics. My old sewing machine couldn't do this type of zigzag stitches, but my new machine does - very happy with that:)

This card is for:

Spring friends

There's a new challenge over at Catch the Bug, this week it's BINGO TIME.
For today I chose to play with spring friends, perfect for Easter or spring, colored with Promarkers, and I used the middle horisontal row.

I used Spellbinders dies to cut and emboss the image and placed it atop a pink doily. I've been using doilies lately, it seems I use them a lot, then nothing for a long time, then a lot again. The background is embossed using a Darice embossing folder. Flowers from my stash. A die cut butterfly (Penny Black) decoarted with liquid pearls (used with the same frequency as dolilies it seems), white string (very often used).

This card is also for:
Digi Choosday Challenge - #7 Animals & Insects
ABC Challenge - B is for... (Bunny, bird, butterfly)

The image you can find in the store of our sponsor for February - Make it Crafty. I colored it with Promarkers and decorated with glossy accent and glitter. I used two DPs, one with spots (Pebbles?) and one with gingham pattern (Maja). The star die cut is made with a die from Marianne and bronze embossing powder. Gift card holder

Happy Monday! I'm here to share my DT project for "Anything But a Card" Monday over at Catch the Bug, featuring  one of the images from the birthday to ewe trio set.

I made a gift card holder, my first one, quite freehand.
I used Spellbinder dies to make the rounded flap  and a leftover piece of DP.
I made a belt to keep the holder closed, using corrugated card stock, decorated with ribbon, twine and a pin.
I mounted the image onto die cut banners made with Dienamics dies.

This is also for:

Rose tag

I'm here to share my DT card for the new "Stella Says Sketch" challenge that starts today over at Catch the Bug.

I used an image called rose tag and colored it with Promarkers, and I added glossy accent and lots of liquid pearls along the edges.

I placed the image onto a large doily, used a striped scrap paper from Maja and a  grey one I had in my stash.

The sentiment is one that came with a craft kit, sorry I don't know which and when, it's been in my stash for some time.

Added three bling and I used silver metallic thread for the stitching.

You're sew special and numbers

Today I have a card to share using sewing themed clear stamp freebies, I believe these are a couple of years old. The spools, scissors and sentiment are all from this set. The scissors and sentiment are heat embossed, the tag is from a label sets I got from IKEA.

The theme over at Twofers is to use numbers - I couldn't find any number stamps in my stash, but a piece of paper with numbers and I got the measuring band ribbon from Mimi of She's Crafty along with the library card, which I distressed with walnut DI and painted with white gesso, using a Memory Box stencil.  Thank you, Mimi, for these lovely goodies.
The dressmaker is die cut with a Spellbinders die, I decorated it with a piece of lace and ribbon. The harelequin patterned DP is from Graphic45.

This card is for:
Twofers - #13 Numbers
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Eureka Stamps - Recycle (old library card)

Teddybear love

Over at Outlawz Twisted Thursday we have a new challenge for you and this week it's SHOW SOME LOVE.
http://api.ning.com/files/cKnzGdTqAJ7FN7pWyEzkjaVwuec2ZY48OPgIhejuEy9LSadWVE9jNZy5XO5iH1G49KhN8TrbKkHc0Zd2cpWTtU5LLQprteoa/MakeitCraftybanner.jpg)
I used an image from our sponsor for February - Make it Crafty, colored with Promarkers.
I chose to make my card a non-Valentine one, but I think it showcases the love a child can show a favorite stuffed animal or teddy - look at the way this fairy boy protects his dearest item. I believe this card will be given to one of nephews (love them all!)
I also added a die cut heart border, using a die from Memory Box. I also used dies from Dienamics to make the scallop border and tag, the stamped sentiment states "you're number 1". String and ribbon from my stash, DPs from Pebbles and Doodlebug. And the embossed heart was from a pack of pre-cut hearts given to me by my aunt - I'm very lucky to have family members that don't craft themselves but are always on the lookout for items for me. I make a lot of cards for them and I don't think they've bought cards for several years now:)

My first lollipop card

I learnt about "lollipop cards" over at a Norwegian website - Ett Trykk.
Apparantly these cards are  everywhere at the mo, but I just learnt about them.

So decided to give it a go, using an image that came free with a magazine, popped it onto die cuts made with dies I received from Mervi and rosettes made with a Tim Holtz die.

I added three die cut stars and banners made with Lawn Fawn dies, stamped birthday greetings on them and added ribbons, twine and a button from my stash.

The back looks just the same as the front, a part from having no image, just a white circle to add a greeting for the receiver.

This card is also for:

You have a special place in my heart

There's a new challenge over at Catch the Bug, this week it's ANYTHING GOES. For today I chose to play with a bear nurse.

The design and colors are inspired by Valentine, but it's more of a "get well" card and the sentiment says "you have a special place in my heart". I don't need Valentine cards (hubby might get one), so making other card around the theme of love instead.

The image is colored with Promarkers. Sentiment and heart rate borders are stamped. DPs are pink ones, distressed with walnut DI, mounting on kraft panel and white card base. 3 pearls as only embellishments.

This card is also for:

This is the third time I play with this embossing folder, I got it in January, it was a freebie with a magazine. I used white ink on the embossed pattern to make it more visible.
Image is colored with Promarkers. I added a die cut strip of grass using a die from lalaland, the scalloped border is made with one from Dienamics. A Memory Box one was used for the sentiment made with a Lawn Fawn stamp. I stitched with blue metallic thread around the edges.

Ice cream!!!

Over at Outlawz Twisted Thursday we have a new challenge for you and this week it's ADD A SENTIMENT.
http://api.ning.com/files/cKnzGdTqAJ7FN7pWyEzkjaVwuec2ZY48OPgIhejuEy9LSadWVE9jNZy5XO5iH1G49KhN8TrbKkHc0Zd2cpWTtU5LLQprteoa/MakeitCraftybanner.jpg)

I used an image from our sponsor for February - Make it Crafty. I chose an image called Frenchie Leon, such a cute little guy, and colored him with my Promarkers. The ice cream I made vanilla flavour with red glitter and glossy accent for the strawberry topping.

I was inspired by the sketch over at Seize the Birthday for my card.
I used my stiched circle dies to make a frame for the image. A die was used to make the birthday greeting. Added two tickets on a white string. Paper was a scrap piece in my stash.

CAS for Stella Says Sketch #402

I'm here to share my DT card for the new "Stella Says Sketch" challenge over at Catch the Bug.

This sketch just screamed CAS to me. So I want with using one of the images from birthday to ewe trio  and added a stamped balloon, using an older rubber stamp in my stash.
I added black thread to the balloon.

Promarkers used, glossy accent, scored some lines - that's it. No glitter, no bling, no DP - all very simples!

As to my favorite style - one or multi layer - I have to go with multi layers. Why? I find making those one layers so hard to do, but I admire those made by others. I also like to fussy cut my images and adding some of the elements or panel on foam. Multi layer cards can be clean - like this one - or very embellished.

I added purple flowers and flower ribbon, grey lace and striped washi (I feel very proud each time I find a way to use these tapes). The sentiment panel was a freebie from TLC a while back. I stitched around the edges with purple thread.

Negative and positive die cuts

I've realized I don't use my dies in all the ways possible, so this time I wanted to combine the negative die cut technique together with positive die cuts, using my tree branch die from Memory Box.

I was inspired by a sketch and a photo challenge (the bottom left corner picture) when making my card.

I took a piece of kraft card stock and cut the tree branch three times. Then I used white paper and cut two branched. I pieced everything together to make a tree, adding the kraft panel onto a white background. I added glitter for snow, some red pearls for berries and 3 die cut birds, using fun foam and another die from MB.
The sentiment was heat embossed with silver EP onto vellum and stitched in place with white thread.

Snowman tag

Happy Monday! I'm here to share my DT project for "Anything But a Card" Monday over at Catch the Bug, featuring a snowman you can find in the Bugaboo store here.

Being constantly late making my Christmas gift tags I thought I'd get an early start this year.

I used tag dies from Dienamics, embossed the smaller one using a snowflake embossing folder. I die cut a lamp post with a die from Memory Box, added a bit of glitter, stamped the "to" and "from" and colored my snowman with Promarkers and a white gel pen.
I used my Crop-a-dile to attach a snowflake eyelet, then I added ribbn and string from my stash. I added glitter

CASE, CAS, Metal and Embossing

Today I have a clean and simple card to share. I was inspired by the CASE card over at Time Out and I also wanted to make a card for Twofers, where the theme is to use metal, and as always you need to use rubber or clear stamps.

I started out sponging with purple ink, then I used an unused corner stamp from Kort&Godt with dark grey ink. I added white and gold frantage and some metal thread I got from Mimi of She's Crafty (thank you Mimi!) I heat embossed some butterflies on vellum, using gold EP and stamps from Bo Bunny, I believe it was the first time they saw ink. It feels really good to use some of the treasures I have in my stash...

There's a new challenge over at Catch the Bug, this week we're playing PHOTO CHALLENGE. For today I chose to play with a reindeer holding a snowflake.

I made a background using a die from CottageCutz, I attached it to white cardstock that I inked with blu,e and I used walnut DI to hightlight the fence and the cottage. I added glitter for snow. The frame is made with a die from Dienamics and I used a die cut sentiment with a Christmas greeting in Norwegian.

Vintage toddler

Over at Outlawz Twisted Thursday we have a new challenge for you and this week's optional twist is to make a card with BABIES/TODDLERS.

I used an image from our sponsor for January -  Stitchy Bear Designs.
I colored her in shades of grey using Promarkers and fussy cut her. I attached to a kraft background which I embossed using an embossing folder from Tiddly Inks that came free with a magazine just recently. I added some white ink on top of the pattern and on the edges to give it a bit of an aged and softer look. I gave the oval with embossed sentiment the same treatment. I made a scene using a fence die from Marianne, heart swirls from Magnolia and some punched butterflies. Machine stitching around the edges.

Silhouette woman

I was asked if if I wanted to be a Guest Designer over at Try it on Tuesday and of course I said yes! The theme is SILHOUETTES and I thought this was the perfect occasion for using a NBUS stamp that I've had in my stash for some time, it was a freebie that came with a magazine.

I heat embossed with black EP onto a DP and added lots of liquid pearls to the hair. A ribbon and lace border was added to the bottom part along with lots of flowers from Prima, I added silver glitter and a bling to each. The swirl is made with a die from Marianne.

I chose images from the Mini Set - Monkey Blocks, colored with Promarkers. I famed them with a photo film strip die cut, thinking of people taking pictures when going to zoos and on safaris. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, I thought it suited the theme. The background is embossed. I added blue brusho and green DI, but much of the brusho part was covered up...

Happy birthday to ewe

This the second day of a week long event over at Catch the Bug - Bugaboo is celebrating its 6th birthday! For day 2 we have a sketch for you to play with. It's amazing all the different versions there are using the one and same sketch so I look forward to seeing what YOU create using this one.

I chose an image called Make it Snappy - Birthday ewe. I started making my background using brushos for the first time, blue and purple. Then I chose two Promarkers, glitter and sequins that match those colors. Machine stitching around the edges.
I think this card will go to a teenaged or young adult boy.
