Two snowmen

Hello! This is m DT card using an "Oldie but goodie" image over at Catch the Bug.

This a really simple and quick card. I started out coloring a white paper blue, then I heat embossed with white EP using a Tim Holtz stamp. I mounted the image, colored with Promarkers, with foam onto the background. Frantage used as snow. White seambinding ribbon, a stamped and die cut tag and some glitter gems and that was it.

I'm sorry I haven't been around visiting blogs much lately, I actually haven't had much computer time/time home at all. I miss visiting and will catch up from the middle of next week as I'm heading for a holiday in Prague first.

This card is also for:

Santa with stocking

This is my card showing one of the new images you can find in the Bugaboo store today - a Santa that comes with different elements to put in his hand, here I chose the stocking.

I colored Santa with Promarkers, added glitter glue to the fur trimmings and frantage for snow. I also added two snowflake sequins and added glittery gems in the middle.

The layout is inspired by the April 2016 sketch over 52CCT:

I used a freebie paper and an embossed half circle. The Christmas sentiment was stamped.

Christmas seal

I still need a few Christmas and winter cards. So here's one made with a couple of new items.

The seal stamp came with a magazine recently, and I used grey Promarkers for coloring. I added gloassy accent to the ice.

The doily like circle was made with a die I got from my sistser as a Christmas calendar gift a few days ago.

The DP is from Maja Design. I mounted it onto white and red panels and machine stitched with grey thread.

I made the sentiment with a die and stamp and added a couple of snowflake sequins and two gems.

Crabby cat and last day of Holiday Chaos

Today is the last day of the week long Holiday Chaos event over at Catch the Bug. Today is BINGO time.

I used the row of glitter/bling + snowflakes + Non-traditional Holiday Colors (pink and brown).  The crabby cat image is this week's freebie. I used Promarkers for coloring and glitter glue on the cat's hat. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set. The cat looks nothing but "joyous" which is why I chose it. To ground the image I added a strip of washi tape. I heat embossed snowflakes with white EP and used two pink DIs to make them stand out more. I also used 3 sequins.

For the second day of the week long Holiday Chaos event over at Catch the Bug we have a sketch:

I've used some of my older Christmas papers and one of the newer Bugaboo images. This sweet elf comes in different variations in the store. Coloring with Promarkers and I used frantage and a snowpen to make the snow. A die cut scallop border, lace, string, a die cut snowflake and a pearl, and voilà.

For day 1 the theme is "All that sparkles".
I've used silver glitter paper, silver mirri card for the die cut half circle with stars and holographic snowflake sequins. I also added glitter glue to the stars on the image. Image colored with Promarkers. The sentiment says "Christmas hugs" in Norwegian. This card with the little Harry Potter look-alike will go to my nephew Noah. Reindeer in wreath

When I saw this sketch over at Sunday Stamps I flipped it and  I roughly knew what items I wanted to use:

I mounted an embossed woodgrain panel onto the kraft card base. Made a square with a Spellbinders die and some musical notes DP. The Hero Arts die cut wreath got punched greeneries decorated with little gold stars and red and gold pearls made with pearl pens. The deer is made with a die from Kort&Godt and I heat embossed with a mix of brown and bronze EP. When everything was put together I added white frantage and the sticker post mark.

    Angel with vellum wings

I made this card with two challenges in mind- Always use Rubber and Time Out.

The stamps I've used are an angel one from Kort&Godt, but since her wings weren't very visible I used other stamps (brand unknown) to make wings with vellum and white EP. I cut around the head the get the wings inserted and tucked behind her head. The sentiment on the tag is from a Hero Arts set and the background is a Tim Holtz one.

I was inspired by this photo:

I usually find photo challenges quite difficult as I can't seem to concentrate on just a couple of things. But with this card it was quite easy. First, pink paper, gessoed and stamped with the angel.  Dies chosen as they came to mind seeing the shape of the pink bench. Additional wings as above the bench. The white ribbon with roses, as in the photo, to add some more embellishment, along with the white seambinding ribbon and tag. And the pearl string.
Then I tried to mount the die cut panels onto a plain white card base. I thought it didn't work, looked bland. Then I tried an embossed snowflakes background. Too messy. Then, as seeing the pattern on the mirror in the photo I thought of my Tim Holtz stamp. I chose to keep the wooden like look by using kraft paper and heat embossing with white EP.
This was a fun card to make, I had flow and found everything I needed to use quite easily - which isn't always the case...

    So this card is for:
TIME OUT Challenges - #70 Photo Challenge
Always Use Rubber - #4 Things with wings

Card Kit Swap with Nonni and Marina - We're preparing for Christmas #3

I'm doing a "Card Kit Swap" with Nonni of Nonni's Handmade Cards and Marina of My Perfect Life. Each month one of us sends the other two identical kits and we make 4 cards each using mainly the same supplies, but we can add some of our own stash too as we're keeping it really simple, fun and stress-free.
I made the kit this time, it contained 2 patterned papers, 2 embossed panels (Tim Holtz EFs), a stamped snowman (North Star stamps), various small stamped and die cut images (Hero Arts), a die cut wreath (Hero Arts), reindeer (Kort&Godt) and children (Kaboks). None of us have included sentiments before, but I did add some die cut and DYMO made ones I love to use myself.

Here's a photo of the kit:

    Card #1: Snowman
The image and sentiment are from my kit. I colored the image using Promarkers. I masked it and sponged the background with blue DI. Then I added drops of water and dried them gently off to make the snow. A die cut lamp post was used as well.
This card is for: Sweet Stampers - #1 Christmas

    Card #2: Winter scene
I used the embossed panel, wreath and stamped images from my kit. From my own stash I added stamped snowflakes and sentiments as well as some silver string.
This card is for: Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog - Anything Christmas Goes

     Card #3: Children
I used the the embossed panel and design paper from my kit, as well as the die cut children. A  snowflake (Marianne die) and a button onto which I attached a tag and sentiment and there's some of that silver string again. The DP is cut using a stitched frame die from Dienamics.
This card is for: Brown Sugar - #224 Anything Goes

    Card #4: Reindeer
The DP, reindeer and sentiment are all from the kit. I've held on to some pearl swirls for so long and decided now was the time to use one. I also added some stamped and die cut pine branches.
This card is for: Christmas Card Challenges - #48 Glitter
Posts with more than one card tend to be heavy and difficult to comment on, but I'd love to hear what card is our favorite and why. I promise - no hard feelings at all, I appreciate an honest feedback:)

    Candy troll

This is my project showing one of the new images you can find in the Bugaboo store later today - a cute little troll.

I'm behind on my gift tags so I decided to add one to my stash with this image. Each year I tell myself that next year I'm going to make my own tags. Maybe this will be the  year? We'll see, I do struggle making something with such limited space...

I colored the image using Promarkers and a silver gel pen, and the candies got a coat of glossy accent. I kept it all really simple, just adding a piece of ribbon, lace and string.

    Lady in Venice

As some of you might know I used to participate in the Twofers' challenges. The team is back but with a new blog called "Always Use Rubber". Their third challenge is DESTINATIONS and my beloved lady in Venice stamp got to see ink yet again.

There where a few mishaps here, which, hopefully, you might think was part of the plan from the start:) I had started to color in the image, giving the lady a grey dress and hat. As I wanted to move some of my smaller Distress inks to another part of m desk to get more room I lost the red one over the image and there were lots of red ink in the bottom right corner. So I added more, with a little pink mixed in and water...

I used a panel of patterned paper, had intended to make it cover the whole front, cut it wrong, so went with a sketch inspiration instead (you can see the sketch here, but I can't enter my card in the challenge as it isn't CAS).

I stamped the white card base with some stamps from Panduro and silver ink. I also added some onto the image. A pink rose was attached to the hat, three pearls, machine stitching and voilà.

    Elf and baubles

This is my card showing one of the new images you can find in the Bugaboo store today - a cute little elf.

I colored the image with mainly green and purple Promarkers and a silver gel pen.
I stamped a few snowflakes in silver (they're not easy to spot on this photo), added glossy accent to the baubles, frantage and glitter for snow.
The papers used are green and purple, the same as the main colors used for the image.
Three snowflake sequins and pearls, a sentiment, and that was it.

    Stockings

This week's challenge over at Catch the Bug is ANYTHING GOES. And since Christmas is approaching - quickly - I took the opportunity to make a Christmas card.

This image was colored up with Promarkers and fussy cut. I attached it to a Hero Arts die cut wreath- - brown paper, white gesso and frantage was used. I used some left over papers to punch the pine branches and also added some old poinsettia stickers. I mounted it all to die cut Spellbinders frames and a snow embossed background.

I got back from holiday on Sunday, but Mr Mojo got delayed. I haven't caught up on all of your blogs yet, but I'll get it to it, I'm still around:)

    Snowman - New release

This is a scheduled post to show you one of the new images you can find in the Bugaboo store today.

I colored the image with Promarkers in shades of grey.

I wanted to use some of my more neglected dies, here are two shapes which I combined together to make a frame. I always admire Donna's (Creative Smiles) ability to use her dies in so many creative ways. I know I didn't do a revolutionary thing here with my dies, but I was inspired by Donna's work when making this silver frame and wanted to share that with you.

I added a doily underneath it and attached it all to a fully covered card front with a DP from Bo Bunny.

A piece of ribbon and string for the metal charm with the Christmas sentiment and a die cut snowflake in the opposite corner.

    Go nuts

My post is scheduled to inform you about the new Saturday challenge over at Catch the Bug. This week it's a COLOR challenge - take a look:

I used to try and avoid color challenges, but they have grown on me. I have certain "go to" color schemes, but color challenges help me try other ones for variation. This autumn inspired one was really fun and I made a rather clean and simple card using a squirrel image from Bugaboo, a leftover piece of DP cut with a scalloped border die, and a fun felt embellishment from my blogfriend, Monika of Creative with Monika. Thanks!

    Chandelier

The Twofers team is back - but with a new blog called "Always Use Rubber". Their first challenge is "It's not all black and white" and a photo.

For my card I used a paper from Authentique with the colors much like the bird. For anything else I used black and white papers and black ink. The chandelier stamp is from a set from Inkadinkado, the sentiment was a freebie and the script background is made with a stamp from Glitz. I used dies from Spellbinders and Dienamics, bling and lace from my stash.

    Sketch and Cowboy

It's time for an new Stella Says challenge over at Catch the Bug and this is the sketch we're playing with this fortnight.
http://api.ning.com/files/sBKqczAM5hIZDmjyphBVLbgt*4bvSMiXawvtRYR7ysgd02JkjZ4GD3RYGbrG6PZ3N1fnIlAkCtbCj*JbIZTCdz*xocQurVFU/SSS2016416October162016.pngThere are so many possibilities with this one. I kept close to the layout and shapes, using a retired cowboy image (but there are still plenty of other cowboy images to find in the store), colored with Promarkers.
I chose a DP I found to fit the style of his shirt and I added string and a cowboy hat charm from my stash. I stamped a simple birthday greeting. All edges are inked with walnut DI. Stitched dies used (Lan Fawn and Dienamics). Hope you'll play along!

    Fall and lots of texture

This is my second post today. For my card kit swap post with Nonni and Marina please see the post below this one...

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug:

I colored the image, Fall Fence, with Distress Inks, and chose the row of ribbon+fabric+button. Theres's lots of texture on my card: the jeans like ribbon, the burlap paper, a felt leaf sent to me by Monika (thanks!) and embossed paper. I made a mini tag with sentiment and a button. Flowers from my stash and a semi hidden tag. It's a card that is more embellished than the other ones I've made lately, but I had fun making it.

Card Kit Swap with Nonni and Marina - We're preparing for Christmas #2

I'm doing a "Card Kit Swap" with Nonni of Nonni's Handmade Cards and Marina of My Perfect Life. Each month one of us sends the other two identical kits and we make 4 cards each using mainly the same supplies, but we can add some of our own stash too as we're keeping it really simple, fun and stress-free.
It was Marina's turn to make a kit and she chose the theme of "Cute Christmas". Her kit contained 4 patterned papers, 1 acectate paper with snowflakes, 3 stamped images, one metal and one wooden embellishment. A cute kit - here's a photo of it:

    Card #1: Girl with presents
The image and patterned paper are from Marina's kit. I colored the image using Promarkers, masked it and sponged with blue DI and added some white frantage for snow, along wit red sequins from my stash.
I used some gold bronze corrugated from my own supplies, die cut a lamp post with a MB die and heat set it with embossing powder to get an aged look. I also used a banner die for the sentiment.
This card is for: I love Promarkers - #319 Anything Goes

    Card #2: Dog
I used 2 patterned papers from the kit (the border is cut from a DP) along with the image and metal charm. I water colored the image using Distress inks.I used Dienamics dies to make the frame and the panel was a leftover piece from Nonni's Christmas set in September. I cut a banner and stamped a Christmas greeting.
This card is for: The Merry Christmas Challenge - Sentiment

    Card #3: Penguin
I used the acetate paper and went with a shaker design, using snow glitter and sequins from my stash. Colored the image  and added glossy accent on the balloon. The sentiment is cut with fun foam and I also used my Dymo. Added a doily behind the glittered panel.
This card is for: Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - Glitter and Sparkle

    Card #4: Wooden tree
I used what was left of the acetate paper and the tree, which I heat embossed with gold EP and attched to a franatge covered tag. Stitched around the edges, added lots of texture with a fun foam cut sentiment, string, lace and pearls from my stash. Added the panel onto a snowflake embossed background.
This card is for: Sparkle N Sprinkle - Anything Goes+

And here's a photo of all of them together:

    Christmas card with pink

Two weeks ago I went to a craft fair and bought a Christmas stamp and die set from Hero Arts. I made three cards in blues and silver (post here) and I said I wanted to try the stamps with pink too.
When I saw the color challenge over at ColorQ it seemed to be the perfect time to do so, and also Nonni's choice of theme for Inkspirational, using 5 stamps or more. I believe I used 9 different ones (2 snowflakes, 3 different tree stamps, the snowman and the sentiment, one with script from the same set and also one from another brand). I used just one pink inkpad - DI picked raspberry, but I achieved the two toned effect by stamping two times before reapplying ink.
Those of you who visit me regularly know I'm no one layer card maker, but I made one, completely voluntarily too! I only added 3 bling because I thought my card lacked some sparkle.

    World Animal Day

Hello! I'm here to show you my DT card for Humor me Wednesday over at Catch the Bug, featuring an image called Autumn Critter Stack 02. I chose yesterday's World Animal Day as theme.

I went with a clean design and some watercoloring. I haven't invested in any real watercolors yet, but I use my Distress Ink pads, stamp them onto an acryllic bloc, add water and use a brush - it works for me. I used my brush to add some splatters too.
I added the panel onto orange card stock, mounted it onto burlap DP as a frame and machine stitched with white thread. The sentiment was part of a freebie set that came with a magazine recently.

    This card is also for:
