A red car for Christmas

Finally. A Christmas card made. I treated myself to the fun car die set from Tim Holtz before Christmas, I made a couple of last minute cards with it, but didn't blog them. This card is fresh out of my craft room.

I made the background with a blue Distress Oxide ink. I used my most used stamp set, and also my favorite one, from Hero Arts, stamping the the snowflakes and the tree line with white ink also from Hero Arts. Then I stamped the trees a second time with green DI. Another favorite used on this card is the dymo sentiment teamed up with a die cut Merry from the die set used. I love all my stitched dies, here I've used a hill one. And I finally got to use one of my much loved, but oh so tricky to use washi tapes.

This card is for:
Rudolph Days challenge - January
Try It On Tuesday - Fire and Ice
Allsorts - Old Favourites

Enjoy your day and eat a lot of cake

Saturday is here and today I'm going to do exactly what I want to, I have no fixed plans for today, nothing that must be done or fixed. Oh joy! The only thing I have on  list it to publish this card for the latest challenge over at Catch the Bug and this week we have a photo for you. I picked inspiration from the shape of the umbrella and made my own sunray background.

The doggie is colored with Promarkers, I attached it to a strip of vellum with an embossed sentiment saying "Enjoy your day and eat a lot of cake". White string from my stash.

This card is also for:

OLC Cute, Colors and Love

I don't usually make (m)any Valentine's or loved themed cards but I' going to make a few this year and send the off to Christina Hor for her "Cards for Little Hearts" drive - you can read more about it here. I also made this card with 3 challenges in mind the are all mentioned below.
I made a one layer and used a stamp that came free with a magazine a few years ago. It hadn't seen ink yet, but now that I have a stamping platform it's so much easier to use stamps of any quality - I believed I inked this up 5 times.
The sentiment is put together with 3 stamps from different sets.
The colors are subtle also IRL, but even more so in the photo. I sponged and splattered a blue DI and used an orange and grey one and watercolored the image.

This card is for:
Color Throwdown - #477
The Paper Players - CAS Love Notes

Love pup

I don't usually make (m)any Valentine's cards or loved themed cards. But I've got many papers and images for this, so I thoght I'd make a few and send them over to Christina Hor for her "Cards for Little Hearts" drive - you can read more about it here.
The adorable pup is from Bugaboo and I used envelope stamps from my new Lawn Fawn set. The paper I've had for a few years and I'm not exactly sure of the brand.
I was inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps.

This card is for:

Two cards with the same feather stamp

Today I have two cards to share, the reason for this being that they will be entered into the new Twofer Card Challenge, where you have to use the same product to make cards for two different occasions. The first challenge is abot feathers. I used an older feather stap from a Fiskars set.

 Card 1 - Thank you
I teamed up the feather with stamps from a, to me, new stamp set from Lawn Fawn I just couldn't resist. I subtly brushed grey and pink ink to the ground and added only a tiny bit of color, the red heart on the envelope and their yellow beeks. I used a black pen to draw the lines to sort of frame the scene.

This card is also for:
Pile It On - #138 Thank You and or/ Shades of Black & White + Optional Pop of color
Daring Cardmakers - Black, White, Pop
Moving along with the Times - #63 CAS
Sparkles Forum Challenges - #100 Thank You

Card 2 - Best wishes
As per challenge requirement I used the same feather stap, but this time with a "best wishes" sentiment for a birthday card.
I also went with layers and used a DP, but no colors.  The frame is staped and I used a gel pen to add some white detailing.
I don't know if you'll agree, but I feel this card is slightly more on the mascline side and I opted for a vintage look.

This card is also for:
The Male Room - #77- Vintage
Crafting with Dragonflies - Anything Goes Cards only
Crafty Catz - #400 Anything Goes option/Males Birthday

Last day of the birthday bash

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 8th birthday. For day 7 the DT members are using the funny bird image on my card,  and this is also the Friday freebie. The challenge is to use the colors below + sprinkes.

My bird is colored with Promarkers and I've added sparkle and glossy accent. I also added an extra balloon, a sticker onto which I attached black thread for string.
The backgrond is cut out with a die and behind the panel I added a DP with pink flowers and green leaves.

I made this card (instead of texting)

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 8th birthday. For day 5 it's about making something funny and including a cupcake somewhere.

I love Jodie's chickie images and here another one called Chickz happy birdday chickie. I colored it with soft colores and fussy cut it. I used a lavender colored paper and DI and stencilled the heart pattern. I sed a black pen to doodle the lines. The sentiment is a combination of two  - one from Lawn Fawn (my new element) and a Penny Black one.

    This card is also for:

Passion For Promarkers Challenge - #427 Something New (sentiment stamp)

    Birthday gift bag

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 8th birthday. For day 3 it's about making something for a birthday that isn't a card.

I made a small gift bag onto which I stencilled some numbers, stamped a greeting and a border and added a banner and tiny pearls. The image is colored with Promarkers and there's glitter glue on the cupcake.

    Hey chickie - sketch

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 8th birthday. For day 2 we have a sketch challenge.

I love the colors and patterns of these DPs from a paper pad I received as an advent calender gift. I added the die cut image to a die cut doily and made the sentiment large. In retrospect maybe I should not have added the flower with the leaves, but at the time I felt the card was too top heavy.

    This card is also for:

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 8th birthday.
For day 1 the theme is "bold and bright birthday wishes".

I made my card using the image Make it Snappy Birthday chickie. I seem to alwas have a pink phase during January and pink was my choice for this card. Silver die cuut leaves, pink flowers and pearls and birthday greeting in Norwegian was added.

    Sketch and Birthday puppies

Over at Catch the Bug we have a new sketch challenge for you.

I need to build up my stash of masculine birthday cards and I felt this puppy image would be great teamed up with some brown papers I found in my scrap box. The dymo sentiment was laying on my desk and the bithday greeting was a negative die cut from another project, so this came ttogether quite quickly.

    This card is also for:

        CAS, sketch and stamping only

Happy New Year! I hope you all are well. This is my first post in 2018 and in a few weeks, I'be been busy enjoying December and Christmas activities.
I've gone clean and simple with a wood mounted stap from Penny Black, being inspired by the sketch over at LIM.
I watercolored the image using DIs and I used a powder brush to add the subtle blue backgrond. The sentiment says "the best mum in the world".

        This card is for:
        Inkspirational - Stamping only
Penny Black and more - CAS
