The trees were covered with Frosted Powder for an extra wintery look and some sparkle.

Purple foil world map

For this card I made my own background, using a stencil from Kaisercraft and foil with a laminator. The shine looks really nice IRL, but it's hard to photograph. I also splattered with metallic champagne colored watercolor paint to add some snow. A die cut Santa with his sleigh and reindeer, sentiment made with a Tim Holtz die and my DYMO.

This card is for:

Ink #254 - Photo Christmas

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have a Christmas photo. I was inspired by the legs and the presents.
I used a new to me Stamping Bella stamp, love her long legs. I paper pieced her dress with a spotted green paper from Maja Design, The DP was a freebie with a magazine, layered onto panels of traditional red and green for Christmas.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

Skates and 2 different color challenges

I usually find it tricky to follow a specific color scheme, but this time I've managed to make 2 cards for 2 different color challenges, as well as a sketch. I've used the same stamp for both cards, skates from Papirdesign.

Card 1) Greys, greens and red

For this card I placed the skates onto a large stamped and die cut snowflake from Concord&9th, heat embossed with Frosting Powder. I used my much used script stamp from KOrt&Godt with whtite ink onto the grey background. Black and silver/white washi tapes to decorate and my dymo and a stamp for the sentiment.

This card is for:
Sunday Stamps - #271 Color - Winter Wonder
Allsorts
- #653 Use a Die

Card 2) Greys, silver, pink and white

For this card I placed everything off centre and followed the sketch over at TSoT. The snowflakes are my favorite embellishment for my Christmas cards this year, I've used them a lot. Covered with glitter or Frosted Poder they add a little sparkle on my cards. I also love the mini slimline shape, it makes it so much easier to keep within the weight limits to keep postage costs down and allows a bit of layering too. I used a stamp from Studiolight with white ink on the silver background. The bow was made with white seambinding ribbon and a pink Distress oxide.

This card is for:
Color Throwdown - #671
Try Stamping On Tuesdays - #535 Technique and/or Sketch

INK #253 - Plaid

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have the theme of PLAID, chosen by Marlena and yours truly. I love plaid patterns, or gingham or tartan or whatever you like to call it, and this time I chose it for the background and also the paper pieced outfit of the little girl from Stamping Bella.

For the most part I aim to buy gifts, but sometimes a gift card or money is the best option, and then it's nice to personalize it with a handmade giftcard- or money holder. This one is kept closed with white string.

Plaid papers are from Maja Design, I used a scalloped border die from MFT, the others are Pinkfresh Studio.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

Christmas cards with stencilled moons

Christmas is quickly approaching and I'm focused on getting all my Christmas cards done  - some have already been posted.
Sometimes lately I've been making two cards at a time, using many of the same supplies. For both cards I used a Spellbinders moon stencil as well as the same sentiment stamp, from Concord & 9th.

Card 1)  Centre placed moon

I stencilled the moon with grey and yellow inks and the night sky with blue, purple and black inks. The silhouette was a freebie stamp with a magazine. I stamped the sentiment with grey.  The snow was splattered with metallic champagne colored watercolor.

This card is for: Happy Little Stampers Stencils - November Anything Goes

Card 2) Moon placed over the edge

I stencilled the moon with grey and yellow inks, this time placing the moon off centre and cutting the panel with a mini slimline die. The blue nightsky has snow made with water droplets. The silhouette stamp and house are from Lawn Fawn and I added die cut trees.

This card is for: Peace on Earth - #4

Ice skates

Those of you who have been following me for a while probably know that I love playing with sketches. This time I couldn't resist having a go at the 512th sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, as I saw it as an opportunity to get some washi tapes used. I love those tapes more and more as I use them.
I went large with the stamped image. The skates are made with a stamp from Papirdesign, a Norwegian brand. The largest snowflake is Concord & 9th, the smaller ones I'm not sure of. The sentiment sticker is from Tim Holtz.

This card is for:

INK #252 - Photo Challenge - Chair

For our challenge at Inkspirational this fortnight, we have a photo of a chair. You can interpret the theme however you see fit, I chose a stamp set from Penny Black to make my 3 cards, heat embossing with gold on a dark blue background.
I used mini slimline dies from Pinkfresh Studio. One sentiment was stampoed (same PB set as the images), the other 2 are Tim Holtz stickers. I layered the stamped panels onto gold colored cardstock. One card has a die cut star, another one 3 rhinestones.

I'm sorry about the quality of the photos, some seem very dark, others light and grainy, but after several attempts I had to settle with these. But I quite like how the crads turned out IRL.

INK #251 Cheer - One layer Christmas card

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have a word prompt - CHEER. I was thinking about the greeting Christmas cheer but couldn't find a stamp with this saying in my stash, then I thought of this cute image from Colorado Craft Company. The rabbit and the hedgehog have their arms raised, like they are cheering for the falling snowflakes.

First I stamped the image and clear embossed. Then I masked it off and started stencilling the moon, using a Spellbinders stemcil. I masked off the moon before making the blue night sky. The snowflakes from Tim Holtz were heat embossed in white. The senitment is from Hero Arts. Coloring is done with with my Inktense pencils

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

I love playing with sketches and I'm sure you'll see me use this one also in the future.
For this card I used a die from my new Pinkfresh Studio mini slimline dies set, as well as a new Stamping Bella stamp. She's perfect for paper piecing! I put her on a DP with snow and added die cut snowflakes.
I heat embossed the Christmas greeting with white emossing powder and added white string.

This card is definetely for a grown up man. I gave snarky cat a top hat, a moustache and a bow tie, and I used my favorite sentiment. The die cut frame and stencil background are made with supplies from Altenew.

I received this paper with 12 vintage images as a advent calendar gift from my mum some years ago, now I'm ready with card # 3 and 4 in this series.

1) Card with the tag

For this card I cut the image with a tag die and raised it on foam. I added seambinding ribbon, twine and textured ribbon, as well as die cut pine branches and pearls. The papers, the striped one and the border with buildings, are both freebies. I used a die and my Dymo to make the sentiment.

This card is for:

2) Card with the oval frame

The lamp post was made with a Memory Box die, I decorated it with pine branches and pearls.

For September there were 21 pariticipants across the world. If you'd linke to join in for the October challenge, you can sign up here until til 7th.

THE CARD I SENT

I sent my card to Linda W of Scrappin', Stampin' & Singin' in Minnesota, USA, along with some die cuts. For my card I used several products from Altenew: the debossed background, the sun medallion and the paper pieced flowers. I never know how to arrange them, so I just covered the inside of the circle as best I could.

THE CARD I RECEIVED

I recieved this card and goodies from Gail of Crafty Nomad in Norway. Thank you so much, Gail, I've already started using the stamps!

INK #249 Fox cake photo

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have a photo. There are foxes, mushrooms and leaves on the cake as well as on my card. The white on the cake inspired me to leave the images uncolored, and I picked up the greens and browns with my papers.

The mushroom stamps were an advent calendar present from my mum at some point, the other stamps were all freebies that came with magazines.

Vintage Christmas - lots of freebie stash and DPs

I have not made many Christmas cards so far this year, which is unusual for me. But I think (hope) I'm on a roll here. I received this paper with 12 vintage images as a advent calendar gift from my mum some years ago (no, I'm never going to be too old for that, lol), and finally I had the courage to cut into that paper. Sometimes when I like something so much, I want to "save it" for a special occasion.
All the other DPs used are freebie ones that came with 2 different magazines.

Here are the first two cards I've finished using these vintage images.

1) Card with the rectangle shaped topper

The lamp post was made with a Memory Box die, and I heat embossed with thick embossing powder, I like the metallic look it gets. The wreath I used to decorate it with was a freebie gift together with some of the DPs used.
I added red and white twine and gold elastic ribbon and strip of DP with sentiments on it.

This card is for:
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - #560 Anything Christmas Goes (or include the word Joy)
Make My Monday
- #158 EMBOSSING (the lamp post)

2) Card with the rounded tag shaped topper

This lamp post was a freebie gift together with the DPs used. I attached red and white twine to it.
I added a die cut fence, the word Christmas (Hero Arts) which I combined with a Dymo sentiment,

This card is for:
Dream Valley Challenges - #255 2 or MORE PATTERNED PAPERS (3: the background, the border with buildings and the topper)

R is for Red and Rhinestones

I'm a cat person and I love Tim Holtz fun cat images and sarcastic sentiments. I fussy cut the cat and heat embossed the sentiment.

I stamped the background with the Pinkfresh Diamond Tiles stamp and added red glitter embossing powder. It might be hard to see in the photo, but IRL it adds a nice sparkle.

The Snowflake Swirl die is from Amy Design. I cut three poinsettias with a die from Marianne.

Finally I added rhinstones and frantage for snow effect.
