TioT - Santa Claus is coming to Town

Over at Try it on Tuesday our new challenge theme is "Santa Claus is coming to town".
I love the white and kraft combination and went with a vintage Santa stamp, heat embossed and colored with white gesso and water. The background is stencilled with snow paste from Finnabair, it has a nice sparkle.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my TioT teamies have made and to get more inspiration.

TioT - Rainbow Colours

Over at Try it on Tuesday we have a new challenge for you and this time we want to see projects inspired by the rainbow colors.
I used a Tim Holtz number stencil and distress inks in rainbow colors to make my colorful background. My hippo was colored grey, but his accessories, ballons, hat, tie bow and preset, were all colored in rainbow colors as well. The birthday greeting was made with my Dymo.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my TioT teamies have made and to get more inspiration.

This card is also for:

Let's get messy - my first DT assignment for TioT

Wohooo! I'm now a DT member of Try it on Tuesday! I've played along many times, but this is my first post as a DT member and the theme is "Let's get messy". I got messy with my Brushos.

I stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp and cut the panel in two to make a mini slimline card and a tag. I clear embossed, then added red, yellow and green Brusho and sprayed on lots of water. I decorated with a mix of red and green sequins and die cut sentiments, and the tag was finished off by adding yellow ribbons.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my TioT teamies have made.

This project is also for:

- Add Ribbon (tag)

- #255 Birthday + option: Use Your Initials (birthday card, with option P as for peonies and s as for sequins)

THE CARD I SENT

The card was sent to Mia in Greece. Usually we have different challenge prompts to choose from (colors, sketch, theme,...), but this month there was a bingo board.I chose the top horizontal row. I used several scarp bits of paper, some used as they were, some was ripped, then they were glued together in a random pattern. I used some stamps from Field Notes by Tim Holtz. The die cut deer are from a die cut background from Tim Holtz, the treese are Alexandra Renke.

THE CARD I RECEIVED

I got a card from Tina in Slovenia this month (photo to come).  Thank you so much, Tina!

INK #280 - Gold

At Inkspirational we have the theme of GOLD and I actually got so inspired I made 3 cards! For all 3 cards I used a cocktail die set from Tim Holtz together with different gold colored papers and cardstock.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

Card #1: Merry Christmas and cheers to the new year
It's hard to photograph cards with lots of shine, this card looks a bit darker in the photo than what it actually is. I used a Tim Holtz DP and decoupage paper in gold with red berriers on top. I heat embossed the Christmas sentiment and added glitter bubbles to the champagne glass.
This card is for:
Christmas Kickstart Challenge - #69

Card #2: 'Tis the season to be jolly - landscape layout
For this card I used a stencilled background with snow paste on kraft, it has a nice glittery effect. I used a torn strip of the red berry decoupage paper and added a sticker sentiment. Here I  clustered the glasses closes together, overlapping with the martini glass.
This card is for:
Fab n Funky - #562 Die Cuts or Embossing/No stamped image

Card #3: 'Tis the season to be jolly - portrait layout
Same theme but a different layout. And I changed the martini for a beer. The background is a green and gold decoupage paper.
This card is for:
Winter Wonderland - ANYTHING GOES CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE

Die cuts and designer papers

One of my nephews' birthday is coming up and I made him this card using a new die from Papirdesign - the boy in his hoodie - and 2 older ones, a stitched one from MFT and an ornate one from Spellbinder.

I used 3 different designer paper leftovers in aqua and brown tones. I used several birthday greeting stamps for the frame. The bottom left corner felt empty so decided to add his age with old stickers from stash.

This card is for:
Cardz 4 Guyz - #295 D is for... (dies and designer papers)
Moving along with the Times - #142 Birthday

INK #264 - Bark

At Inkspirational we have a new challenge, it's a word prompt: Bark. Did you know some owls can bark? I didn´t, until I googled it. Several other animals do too. I also included bark in the form of trees on the DP.

My owls are paper pieced with leftovers and a stamp from StampingBella. The tree is Lavinia, heat embossed on vellum.
The senitment is a sticker from Art by Marlene, I think it fits the owls, with the one odd, standing out from the crowd. And I think it's useful advise for one of my teen or young adult nephews.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

B is for Blooms

I don't have green fingers, I don't know if that's why I love cacti, but I do. They come in some many fun shapes and sizes and they bloom. And they're easier to keep alive than other plants - in my household I'm only allowed to water the cacti - and certainly not the orchides!

I used my Derwent Inktense pencils and water for coloring - such a long time since last ans so FUN! I chose warm, earthly colors for both the flower pots and the stencilled background.
The stamps are a Concord & 9th set.

This card is for Alphabet Challenge - B IS FOR BLOOMS

March Card Chain Challenge reveal

Here's my card The Card Chain Challenge March reveal. I have joined every month since I first joined back in Septemebr last year and I do look forward to once a month receieving a card from a fellow card maker from anywhere in the world. Anyone can enter as long as you are willing to snail mail a card to another crafter.  If you'd like to join in for the April challenge, you can sign up here until til 6th.

THE CARD I SENT

This time I chose the color scheme - pink+green+brown, as well as patterned paper and friendship. The background paper is pink with a mint green foil and her top is made with a patterned paper, also in a minty kind of green. Her hair is brown and her earrings and necklace are made with brown glitter paper and bling. She also has a pink flower in her hair, cut out from a Mintay paper. The background is made with a Finnabair stencil, foil and a laminator.
A 20 year younger version of me could have this girl as an avatar. This is my first attempt at using this Missees stamp and die set, I can tell you it's quite addictive. As a young girl I loved playing with paper dolls, this is kind of the same concept for a crafter.
My card went to the talented Brenda in the UK.

THE CARD I RECEIVED

The card hasn't arrived yet from Greece, but I'm so looking forward to seeing  Marianne's card in real life once it arrives:)

A butterfly card for a friend

When lacking mojo I find it helpful to use sketches and rummage through my stash. I came by this old DP and thought of this week's sketch over at Paper PLayers. The butterfly border was prepared long ago, I had heat embossed with a lace stamp on vellum and used a TH die to cut it out from the vellum and white backing paper. I heat embossed the sentiment, chosen for it's size mainly. Silver liquid pearls were added. I chose the mini slimline size, I find this card best for cards that are likely to get posted, to keep within weight limits.

This card is for:
The Paper Players - #584 Sketch
Allsorts
- #669 In The Garden (butterflies
Moving along with the Times
- #140 Friends

INK #260 - Curve

For our challenge at Inkspirational we have the theme of CURVE for the next two weeks. What I love about our word prompts is that you can interpret the theme in many ways.
I was thinking of the female body and how tailormade clothings show off the curves.
So out came my papers from ScrapBoys, a scalloped oval die from Spellbinders, which I believe was part of my first ever die purchase, and a border die from Pinkfresh Studio. Popped behind the bottom part of the dressmaker is a measuring tape ribbon.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

This card is also for:
Fab n Funky - #546 - Dies and Stencils
Little Red Wagon - #643 Something with Letter B: Blue, border, buttons, bobbin

THE CARD I SENT

I sent my card to  Ellie in Illinois, For my card I followed vertical line to the right:white+merry+Santa+circles+red. I made a mini slimline using lots of leftover pieces from other projects. My design evolved around all the circles and I added all the small stamped images and die cuts a bit randomly.

THE CARD I RECEIVED

I recieved my card from Brenda in the UK. The card is gorgeous, it's beautifully designed and with its large size it's quite impressive. I adore it and I've added it to the wallboard in my crafting room. Thank you, Brenda!

Guest Designer at STamping Sensations

I’m so happy to be invited as guest designer for Stamping Sensations' January challenge where the theme is Anything Goes with stamping, with the option of add a die.

I pulled out my Altenew die to make the frame, it's for a slimline size card, but I cut it to fit my mini slimline design. I heat embossed it with silver EP.
The sentiment was stamped on a torn piece of vellum and the Penny Black flowers on black card stock.
I added some rhinestones into each corner for a bit og shine.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

I used a new to me Stamping Bella stamp, love her long legs. I paper pieced her dress with a spotted green paper from Maja Design, The DP was a freebie with a magazine, layered onto panels of traditional red and green for Christmas.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the my INK-teamies have made.

This card is also for:

Skates and 2 different color challenges

I usually find it tricky to follow a specific color scheme, but this time I've managed to make 2 cards for 2 different color challenges, as well as a sketch. I've used the same stamp for both cards, skates from Papirdesign.

Card 1) Greys, greens and red

For this card I placed the skates onto a large stamped and die cut snowflake from Concord&9th, heat embossed with Frosting Powder. I used my much used script stamp from KOrt&Godt with whtite ink onto the grey background. Black and silver/white washi tapes to decorate and my dymo and a stamp for the sentiment.

This card is for:
Sunday Stamps - #271 Color - Winter Wonder
Allsorts
- #653 Use a Die

Card 2) Greys, silver, pink and white

For this card I placed everything off centre and followed the sketch over at TSoT. The snowflakes are my favorite embellishment for my Christmas cards this year, I've used them a lot. Covered with glitter or Frosted Poder they add a little sparkle on my cards. I also love the mini slimline shape, it makes it so much easier to keep within the weight limits to keep postage costs down and allows a bit of layering too. I used a stamp from Studiolight with white ink on the silver background. The bow was made with white seambinding ribbon and a pink Distress oxide.

This card is for:
Color Throwdown - #671
Try Stamping On Tuesdays - #535 Technique and/or Sketch

THE CARD I RECEIVED

Christmas cards with stencilled moons

Christmas is quickly approaching and I'm focused on getting all my Christmas cards done  - some have already been posted.
Sometimes lately I've been making two cards at a time, using many of the same supplies. For both cards I used a Spellbinders moon stencil as well as the same sentiment stamp, from Concord & 9th.

Card 1)  Centre placed moon

I stencilled the moon with grey and yellow inks and the night sky with blue, purple and black inks. The silhouette was a freebie stamp with a magazine. I stamped the sentiment with grey.  The snow was splattered with metallic champagne colored watercolor.

This card is for: Happy Little Stampers Stencils - November Anything Goes

Card 2) Moon placed over the edge

I stencilled the moon with grey and yellow inks, this time placing the moon off centre and cutting the panel with a mini slimline die. The blue nightsky has snow made with water droplets. The silhouette stamp and house are from Lawn Fawn and I added die cut trees.

This card is for: Peace on Earth - #4

INK #252 - Photo Challenge - Chair

For our challenge at Inkspirational this fortnight, we have a photo of a chair. You can interpret the theme however you see fit, I chose a stamp set from Penny Black to make my 3 cards, heat embossing with gold on a dark blue background.
I used mini slimline dies from Pinkfresh Studio. One sentiment was stampoed (same PB set as the images), the other 2 are Tim Holtz stickers. I layered the stamped panels onto gold colored cardstock. One card has a die cut star, another one 3 rhinestones.

I'm sorry about the quality of the photos, some seem very dark, others light and grainy, but after several attempts I had to settle with these. But I quite like how the crads turned out IRL.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see the wonderful makes of my INK-teamies.
