Outlawz Twisted Thursday's Birthday Twist

For my DT card over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday  I used an image from our sponsor for the month of September - Nicecrane designs. This week's theme - or twist - is birthdays.
This image makes me think of a TV series I enjoyed as a child - "Little House on the Prairie", and I read the books as well. I colored up the image having autumn colors in mind. A made a frame around the image using a wood patterned DP and an inner frame of kraft distressed with Walnut DI. The DP I used as background came free with a magazine. I cut close to the lines of the image, added a 3D butterfly for dimension (and to cover up my poor coloring of the butterfly that is part of the image). I used letter stickers to make the sentiment.

This card is entered into these challenges:
1) Through the Purple Haze - Inspired by a Song / Book / Film / Cartoon
2) Lexi's Creations - Autumn Colors
3) Come and Get It Challenges - Birthday Theme
4) Make it Monday - Anything Goes

Aww this is wonderful Pia… I thought immediately of Little House on the Priaire… she looks very like Laura! I bought the box sets on DVD and still love watching them. I love the way you've done the wooden frame like she is gazing out of the window… and the butterfly perched outside is ust perfect… the whole card has a fab 3D effect… I really love it! :-)
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Big hugs

I don't know how I missed this gorgeous creation! And you're right - it does remind me of Little House on the Prairie. I used to dream about living in a place called Walnut Grove! But I digress - that's a beautiful card, Pia!
