Masculine card with no stamps, dies or stencils

Having lots of boys in my life (I have 5 nephews, from age 5 to mid 20s), plus the more adult male family members, I'm always in need of masculine designs. And I love making them.

This card came together rather quickly with toppers from a Maja Design paper pad.
The sentiment and scallopped border I belive were part of a set from Kaisercraft.
Corrugated paper and an embossed background with woodwork pattern.
I swiped my white inkpad over the surface to tone down the intensity of the blue color.
No fancy stuff used, no stamps, dies or stencils, just paper.

INK #232 - Hearts

For our Inkspirational challenge this fortnight Lindsey has chosen the theme of hearts. 

I have one heart on my card but it was made using two dies, along with glitter paper. The heart was made as a frame for the lit up scene of bulidings and lamp post. I used a gold metallic water paint, black for splatters. The cat was made with a magazine freebie stamp.

Recipe 123 - 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, 3 layers

This week's challenge at Catch the Bug is a recipe challenge: 123 - 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, 3 layers.

I never know how to count layers, but I counted the DP background as one, the yellow strip as one and the image as one.
I colored teddy with Promarkers and added glossy accent to the balloon. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.

I was planning on adding this card to my baby card selection. But I guess it could be used for a toddler's birthday as well.

Bottle tag

It's Monday and over at Catch the Bug that means we've got some "Anything but a card" inspiration for you. 

I used Mouse - candle, colored with Promarkers.
The paper is old and came free with a magazine several yeard back - I do like the combination of red, white and blue and dots.

INK #231 - Shoes photo

For our challenge at Inkspirational this fortnight we have a photo.
I had several ideas for this theme but opted for a masculine take as I've got 5 nephews and am in constant need of cards for males of all ages.
The image is cut out from a Maja Design paper, the die cut frame is from Altenew. I used stencils as stamps together with Speckled egg and Pumice stone Distress Oxides. A left ofer piece of a Lawn Fawn DP was used, turqoise enamel dots and birthdays greetings stamped. For the stars I used a stencil and gold Nuvo expanding mousse.

Winter Penguin Trio and BINGO

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug and tis week we are playing bingo. I used the row of snowflake+Bugaboo image+ribbon.

I used the image Winter Penguin Trio. DPs from Maja Design, die cut snowflakes, a holly frame and a tree. Added two buttons from my stash, I drew a white line with a Posca pen on them, and ribbon from my stash.

Day 7 of Bugaboo's 11th annual Birthday Bash - Woodland Friends

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 11th birthday.
For day 7 we have a color theme. The DTs have used today's freebie, so if you do like the fox I used you can grab it for free from later today and a week ahead.

I gave the fox a birthday hat and a bow tie to add to the party feel. Papers are old freebies.

Day 6 of Bugaboo's 11th annual Birthday Bash - Woodland Friends

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 11th birthday.
For day 6 we have a photo.

I used Theodore Bear and teamed him up with animals from a magazine freebie set and stamped toadstools - all stamps are new to me. I arranged the scene onto a die cut tag, used an old-ish DP and lace and string for texture, as well as an embossed panel.

I used Goofy Squirrel and teamed him up with old freebie papers with plenty of nuts as a well as a "nut themed" sentiment. Two die cut leaves, a glitter strip and string, and my card was ready.

Day 4 of Bugaboo's 11th Birthday Bash - Woodland Friends

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 11th birthday.
For day 4 we have a bingo board.

I made my card using the line of ribbon+die cut+sentiment. The image was colored with Promarkers. I stuck to blue, green and golden colors.
I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and fussy cut it.

Twofer Flowers

Here are my two cards for the Twofer Card Challenge #34, where the theme is FLOWERS. 

For both cards I used a die from Pinkfresh Studio. I made a thank you card and a with sympathy card.

 

 

 

1) THANK YOU CARD

A really quick and simple card. I used one of the dies from the Pinkfresh Studio set. I stamped the sentiment inside of the die cut, added some black splatter and 3 gems. The panel was raised on foam.

Day 1 of Bugaboo's 11th annual Birthday Bash - Woodland Friends

Over at Catch the Bug we're having a week long birthday bash - Bugaboo is celebrating its 11th birthday. Day 1's theme is to create a birthday card with woodland creatures.

I made my card using the image Owl trio, colored with Promarkers and with glossy accent eyes. The background is made with an embossing folder that came free with a magazine recently and a green ink. The trees are die cut, colored and I used a white and black pen for detailing.
The birthday greeting was stamped onto a tag.

INK #230 Mask

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have a word prompt: MASK. This theme can be interpreted in different ways. I used the technique of masking to make a cluster of potted plants.

All stamps used are part of the same set from Altenew. This started out as a one layer card, quite happy with it, but when I was going to add a stamped sentiment as the final touch, SMUDGE happened. So I had to salvage what I could - fussy cut the stamped image and placed it onto a partially dry embossed wooden background and played it safe with a die cut sentiment, die is from Penny Black die. I was happier with the first version, but I am happy I didnät have to bin it and start a new.

First Stella Sketch of 2021 - Birthday animals

Happy New Year everyone! Let's hope 2021 will be far better than the previous one.

Today starts a new sketch challenge over at Catch the Bug. I need to stock up on cards for most occasions, staring with a birthday card for a child.
I used the image Sign it birthday critters. colored it with Promarkers and added a birthday greeting in Norwegian. I used a strip of glitter paper and a MFT border die and several paper scraps in shades of brown. A green striped ribbon and brown string from my stash.

For our last challenge of 2020 at Inkspirational Nonni has chosen the theme - Something in your home.

This time of year there are many gnomes sitting around in my home, so I made this Christmas card for next year with papers from Maja Design.
I splattered some white paint onto the kraft background. I placed the topper onto a die cut holly wreath from Amy Design. The sentiment dies are Tim Holtz and Hero Arts.

Ink #228 - Snow

Have you had any snow yet in your part of the world? I love a winter landscape with lots of white snow, but it can easily take the form of "slush" and I certainly don´t want that.

For our challenge at Inkspirational the theme is snow.I used a snowflake die from a Concord&9th set. For the background I stamped with a script stamp and white ink on kraft, added a little splatter and white enamel dots. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz chipboard.

Ink #227 - Kitten photo

For our challenge at Inkspirational this fortnight we have a photo. And I had a difficult time chosing where to go with, not because the theme was tricky, but there are so many possibilities! Should I go with baubles/christmas ornaments? Snow? A cat? Finally I opted for an image with a present and lots of snowflakes.
The image is Stamping Bella. I die cut the bow, colored the image with Promarkers and used glitter glue for sparkle.

For our challenge at Inkspirational this fortnight Carol has chosen the theme - Frame It.
For my card I used a photo frame die from Lawn Fawn. The animals are made with a stamp set from Avery Elle, and I gave them paper pieced hats and scarf. Santa's sleigh and the tree stamps are from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is a combination of Dymo and Tim Holtz die cut.

Guest Designer at Twofer - challenge #33

I’m so happy to be invited as guest designer for Twofer Card Challenge #33, where the theme is STARS. I’ve made two cards for different occasions and with different designs, using the same star die.
I made a card fit for several occasions - "you're a star" card - as well as a New Year's card.

 

1) Youre' a star
For this card I made a background using brushos. I made a window and frame using star dies and added lots of sequins for a shaker design. I believ the fairy is a die from Marianne. I usually use the combinaion of red with gold and blue with silver, but for this card, for no particular reason, I used blue with gold for a change.

2) New Year
I do hope 2021 will be better than 2020, so I hope I plan on making a toast for the new year. A script sentiment used for the background, otherwise dies and sequins used, as well as frantage. The sentiment is made with dies from Concord&9th.
