Using my old rubber stamps

I had on my to do list to make a sassy birthday card using rubber stamps. I had only one image I felt suited the theme, so  I blew the dust off my showgirl from Whimsy Stamps. I wanted to use this stamp in a new way, so I stamped a cocktail glass from Magnolia, masked it and then I placed the showgirl like she's sitting inside the glass. The image is colored with Promarkers and the glass has loads of glossy accent on it.

I had planned to use a sketch as inspiration for my card, but I had to change plans along the way as I wasn't happy with how I'd colored the white space around the image, which forced me to fussy cut it. I used my embossing folder with falling snow, then I added gold, silver and frantage to the spots and background, I think it gave her a background with lots of party feel to it. The birthday sentiment is in Norwegian and was is embossed with silver EP.

This card is for these challenges:

Mervi's Candy and Challenge - Birthday

Dreamcatchers

It's very rare I show two cards in the same post, but these two cards have the same theme.
For both cards I've used a dreamcatcher die from Spellbinders.

For my first card I colored the die cut with brown and blue Promarkers, being inspired by the colors of the Stampin Royalty photo, and decorated it with white pearls. The blue inner frame is stamped with a script stamp from Kort&Godt.
I used my stitched oval dies to make a raised frame. I also used them to cut out the centre so that the gold paper panel also makes the background for the die cut. The cardstock is dark brown.
This card is for these challenges:
Stampin' Royalty - #296 - Picture Inspiration
Dream Valley Challenges - Recipe (Blue+Stitching real or faux+die cuts)
Cards und More - No Designer Paper

For my second card I colored the die cut, a part from the feathers, with a brown Promarker, then I added frantage with white and gold and heat set it. I attached it to a gold panel covered with vellum and stitched around the edges. I mounted the panel on foam.
This card is for these challenges:
Addicted to CAS - Dream
TIME OUT Challenges - #39 Case Tracey (I was inspired by the white, vellum and the placement of the image)
House of Cards - Stitching

Autumn colors

I'm here to share my DT card for the new COLOR challenge over at Catch the Bug, featuring the images from the Mini Set - Leaf blocks.

I struggle a bit with color challanges, so instead of going hunting for designer papers in my stash to find papers that would fit colorwise, I pulled out my inks.
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/141581982012684867/I used them to color the images, there's a mix of DI squeeezed lemonade, wild honey, fired brick, aged mahogny and a walnut stain in there.
I attached the images to burlap paper, then to corrugated card board which I added som aged gold frantage to. I found 3 buttons in autumnal colors in my stash and added those and some brown string.
The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and is heat set with Queen's Gold EP.

This card is also for these challenges:

If You Give a Crafter A Cookie... - #28 Photo Inspiration

    Halloween card with Freebie Friday

Happy Friday! I'm here to show you my card featuring the Freebie Friday -  you can pick it up at no cost in the Bugaboo store.

Making a Halloween themed card I was out of my comfort zone, but I found some orange and black papers from Graphic45 in my stash, as well as black ribbon and paper and got to work using
the Tuesday Morning sketch as inspiration for my layout. I die cut an oval frame using Dienamics dies and popped it up with foam, and I did the with the fussy cut image. But before that I stamped the paper within the frame with a cobweb and spider stamp and added some white stuff that was supposed to look like real cobweb...

This card is also for these challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches - #319 Sketch
Whimsy Inspiration - #86 Anything Goes or Halloween
Crafting with an Attitude - #7 Anything Goes

    CASEing Monika - take two

Monika of Creative with Monika invited me to join a personal challenge, where she CASEs one of my cards of her choice and I one of hers. This is the second time we do this. This time I chose to CASE her elephant card - it's the one in the smaller photo and you can find more photos of her card here.

So I took out my elephant stamps from Lawn Fawn and stamped them onto patterned paper and cut them out. I placed them onto a die cut heart (Memory Box) which I inked with fired brick DI.

The sentiment is heat embossed with silver EP, the stamp is from Technique Tuesday.
The background is stenciled using black DI, which I think actually looks grey when used for stenciling.
For a bit more color I added 3 sequins from my stash.

I'm sure Monika would appreciate your visit too, you can check out her post here to see her version of one of my cards and leave her some love:)

This card is for these challenges:
Crafty Creations - #298 It Takes Two
City Crafter Challenge - #279 - Paper Piecing

    Elephant and pumpkins

It's Thursday and time for an OLDIE BUT GOODIE over at Catch the Bug and a new challenge over at Outlawz Twisted Thursday. This week the optional twist - or theme - is "AUTUMN".

The image is called Edward - fall pumpkins and is colored with Promarkers.

The background is embossed, I used gold paper, then I added a panel of a DP that came free with a magazine ages ago.
For a bit of texture I added cheesecloth, and I die cut lots of leaves in different autumnal colors using dies from Lawn Fawn. The tree branch and birds are made with Memory Box dies.
I machine stitched around the edges using gold metallic thread.

    Crabby Cat

Tuesday is new release day over at  Bugaboo and this is my DT card showcaseing one of Jodie's latest images. It's called Crabby Cat Christmas - I think the name suits him.

He's colored with Promarkers, he's got glossy accent on his eyes and glitter on his fur trim. The image is cut using a die from Lawn Fawn.

Papers are from Maja Design. The striped panel was embossed with a candy cane embossing folder.

I stitched using white thread, added white string and a red glittery button I received from Kim (thanks Kim!)
    The sentiment is from Dylusions.

    Paris and Venice

Twofers has the theme of cities this fortnight. I made two A2 sized cards.

    Paris card:
The Eiffel Tower is a clear stamp from Panduro. I stamped with black ink and layered the image onto black and white panels. The background is made with a map stamp from Prima, and it actually includes France on it. I stamped with white ink onto black card stock.
I wanted to include a little color to the card, so I used a twine I received from Kim which has the colors of the French flag and it's also my NBUS element. I attached a die cut tag to it and stamped "lots of hugs" using a Technique Tuesday set.

This card is for these challenges:
    Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5
Get Creative Challenges - Use a Tag
Where the HeART is - Add some text

    Venice card:
This is a one layer card I made using a stamp from Penny Black. I masked off the white space and stamped my image. I stamped the image onto some left over paper and made a mask before I started inking the sky and water. Then I colored the image using Promakers and a white gel pen and I left the building uncolored. I left out a sentiment, I kind of regretted that I included one on my previous one layer card, so didn't want to make the same mistake.

This card is for these challenges:
Inkspirational - One layer card (2nd entry)
TIME OUT Challenges - #39 Make Your Mark
    Happy Little Stampers CAS- Colouring

    Stella Says Sketch with Elephant

I'm here to share my DT card for the new "Stella Says Sketch" challenge over at Catch the Bug.

I used a die from Poppy to make the die cut background that covers the whole card front. I used the same DP as behind the die cut for the panel, and instead of using a circle I took the liberty to add a tag made with a Dienamics die and added my fussy cut elephant on top of it. I used jeans ribbon and white string from my stash as well as glitter pearls I received from Kim.

This card is also for these challenges:
Through the Purple Haze - Happy Birthday
    Crafter's Cafe - #132 Monochromatic for a Child
I love Promarkers - #284 Use the Colour Blue

    Bear Angel on Cloud

I'm here to share my DT card for the new ANYTHING GOES challenge over at Catch the Bug, featuring the image Jesse Bear Angel - Jesse angel.

He's colored with Promarkers and gel pens and the fluffy cloud is made using a snowpen - love that stuff. I fussy cut the image and mounted it on foam.
I masked off the rectangle, used DI ink and Perfect Pearls, which gives it a nice shiny look. It's the first time I've used it and I'm ddfinetely going to put more colors on my shopping list...
Then I ran the background through an embossing folder with falling snow and added silver EP and heat set. The sentiment is also embossed, and I only added 3 sequins from my stash for a clean look.

The image is called Sewing Mouse - needle and is colored with Promarkers and a silver metallic gel pen for the needle. I used a past Saturday Sketch as inspiration.

The sentiment is heat embossed on velum and is from the same set as the bobbins that came free with a magazine at some point. I decorated the bobbins with dark blue and pink thread.

The background is embossed using an EF with buttons and I used sandpaper to enhance the pattern.
