My first Book Card

This is my first attempt at making a book card.  I will definitely make some more!
I used carton to make the book and covered it with different design papers.
The front is decorated with an image cut out of design paper. The frame is made using a Spellbinder die, and I attached pearls to it. I added a little metal charm to white ribbon. The sentiment is a rub on. I've also used some white feathers and flowers. I've also decoarted the inside.

Me being Messy

This card wasn't created with any challenge or occasion in mind. It's just my attempt of being a bit "wild and messy", which isn't exactly two words I would normally use to describe myself as a person. I'm quite the opposite - often having a plan in mind and being systematic.
For this card I tried to focus on combining elements I normally wouldn't  put together and trying not to be too orderly in the way I put the elements together. Like, what are the birds doing together with a vintage car and a row of tickets? And "naughty me", I crinkled the tickets too!
The orderly side of me is not a 100% pleased with this card, but I'm content with my attempt of trying something new, for me that is, so here goes:
1) Card Makin' Mamas - Try Something New (2nd entry)
2) Inspire Me Fridays – Anything Goes
3) LEJ Designs - #17 Vintage

Sketch with Happy Hippo

We have some sun today, so what better than to make a card with sunny, happy colors! This bikini clad hippo is a digi from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I've used 2 different design papers with spots and dots. I've used a Spellbinder die to make the frame arounf the image, and I'v used 2 different leaves dies for the flowers. The two decorative corners are rub-ons. The design is inspired by the sketch over at "Sketches by Carly".

Sketch - Brothers

When I first discovered this lovely Mo Manning digi, I just knew I had to have it. These boys remind me so much of my two youngest nephews. I've made a card with a birthday sentiment. This card would be perfect to give to one of them, or even to give to someone from them. I've used jeans and wooden patterned papers and kraft. The corners are made using a Spellbinder die. The cut out piece I cut diagonally afterwards. I've also added some pearls.

Hexagon Shaped Card for a Boy

I bought some hexagon dies not so long ago, and today I wanted to make a shaped card for a boy.
I've used circle dies to make a kraft frame around the scene. For the scene I've used 3 different dies - the bird,  grass and fence. I've used scrap papers for these elements. As for the flower field I've used washi tape. For the sky I've used design paper. Edwin is colored with watercolor pencils.

Sketch with Mouse

I used to be afraid of sketch challenges, but now I just love them! Here's a card made for the Sweet Sketch challenge based on this sketch:
I've used a 3 different design papers, in addition to cardboard.
The mouse is made with a stamp from "Country Companions" and I've colored it with watercolor pencils.
I've used ribbon, pearls and a flower with a pearl brad.
I felt that the card lacked "something", so I added a banner with a stamped birthday sentiment.

CAS and Tearing

I had already planned to make something with the design paper with script and the feathers, but I hadn't come up with a plan yet. When I discovered this week's theme over at LIM - "Tearing" - I immediately knew what to make. I've added some texture and a pearl brad too, and the sentiment "For You" is a rub-on. I've used black cardboard for the card base. I've scored a frame around the edges.

I enter this card into these challenges:
1) Less Is More - #81 Tearing
2) Creative Card Crew - #17 maps/Newsprint/Sheet Music/Script

The baby carriage is made with a Marianne CreaTables die. I added a rub-on sentiment and 6 pearls.

      CAS Sketch

I just love this week's CAS sketch over at Sentimental Sundays!
The image is made with a stamp from  Stampendous. I used an oval die to cut out part of the image.
The banner is made of washi tape, and the sentiment  - "Have a great summer" in Norwegian - is made with stickers. The blue paper is embossed, and I've used sandpaper on both the embossed paper and the stickers. Finally I added a pearl brad.

      Happy Birthday in Pink

I've made a birthday card in pink, using the sketch from Sweet Sketch as inspiration for the design.
I've used two stamps - the cat, only colored in pink ad with a bit of glitter glue,  and the banner, which I've paper pieced. The sentiment - "for you" in Norwegian - is a rub-on. The button has a birthday sentiment.
I've used several different pink design papers and some pink ribbon.

Christmas Card with Sparkle and Glitter

      I've made the panels with
silver mirror carton, covered in a kind of fabric with black and silver glitter threads. The trees are cut out of transparent paper with music notes, using a Marianne CreaTables die. I attached them to black paper, so that the pattern would be more visible. I added red pearls and rhinestones to the trees. For the label I used red paper, A Christmas sentiment rub-on and two star brads.
I'm quite pleased with the result, but not so much with the pictures, as I struggled to avoid having my reflection in the mirror cards:)

This design is inspired by the sketch from Die Cuttin' Divas.

Christmas Card with Black Ribbon and Lace

This card started out with a totally different color scheme and design. Even though I often have a clear idea of the design when I start off,  I almost always end up with something totally different. I've tried out at least 10 different designs before I ended up with this one - that's probably why I'm a "slow working crafter"..

For this card I've used black lace and ribbon (at the top). I've used a rubber stamp from Panduro for the sentiment, and the image is cut out from design paper. I've added a red metal brad, 2 mistletoe stickers and 3 music note stickers, all with rhinestones.

      This card is for:
      1) There She Goes - Use a Sentiment as main Focus
      2) Christmas Card Challenges - Use something new (note and mistletoe stickers)

      Teddy Bea with Flowers

I've used a sketch from "Just Us Girls" as inspiration for this design.
I've used 3 design papers, red card stock for the panels and kraft as the neutral color.
The image, a Teddy Bea clear stamp, is stamped on kraft paper, and I've used paper piecing technique for her dress, hat and boots.
As decorative elements I've used flowers with different textures and brads.

      This card is for:
      1) Just Us Girls - #148 Sketch

      Blue and Green

I've used blue and green paper for this card. The blue paper is used for the frame around the image, for the panel behind the embossed green paper and for the label with sentiment. As decorative elements I've used a flower ribbon and 2 blue pearls. For the image I've used a stamp from Panduro, and I have colored it using watercolor pencils.

      This card is for:
      1) Less Is More - #79 Blue and Green
      2) CAS-ual Fridays - Things You See in the Sky
      3) The Ribbon Girls - BINGO (ribbon + pearls + image)
      4) Make it Monday - Anything Goes

Card with Bird and Brown Colors

I've used a sticker as image - I've had it for ages, before my cardmaking days! So I thought it was time for it to come out of my drawer and onto a card! I like its golden colors and the swirl, and I wanted it to be the focal point, so I didn't want to add any more embellishments than the versatile sentiment - "Just for you" - from a Kanban set.
I've used kraft for the card base, for the woodgrain embossed circle and the label with sentiment. I've used two design papers and brown paper. All edges are distressed with walnut stain ink.

This card is intered into these challenges:
      1) Squiggles and Giggles - Stash Attack

I've used this week's sketch from Sweet Sketch as inspiration:

I've used 2 design papers and pink and white paper for this card.
The stamp is from Magnolia and is called "Tilda with floating hearts". I've colored her with watercolor pencils and her wings have gotten  a touch of glitter glue on them.
I've used a Spellbinder die for the oval frames and a Marianne CreTables die for the tree and bird. The sentiment reads "Happy Birthday" in Norwegian. I've also added some ribbon.

      1) Sweet Sketch - Sketch #165
