Negative and positive die cuts

I've realized I don't use my dies in all the ways possible, so this time I wanted to combine the negative die cut technique together with positive die cuts, using my tree branch die from Memory Box.

I was inspired by a sketch and a photo challenge (the bottom left corner picture) when making my card.

I took a piece of kraft card stock and cut the tree branch three times. Then I used white paper and cut two branched. I pieced everything together to make a tree, adding the kraft panel onto a white background. I added glitter for snow, some red pearls for berries and 3 die cut birds, using fun foam and another die from MB.
The sentiment was heat embossed with silver EP onto vellum and stitched in place with white thread.

This card is for:
CAS(E) This Sketch! - Sketch #156
Double D Challenges - Brrrr A Winter Time Theme
Rudolph Days Challenge - January
Winter Wonderland -New (I used a new technique to use my branch die)

This is a stunning card, Pia.

I am in the midst of trying to make something a bit similar asI have some bluebirds that I want to use up. Your card made me smile as I thought how nice yours looks and mine is still laid out on the table in my craftroom. Laid out and not glued down yet!

This is just genius designer at work! So pretty, and I liked your thinking out of the box idea. Looks wonderful with the kraft over white, with the pops of red berries. Cute little bird tucked in the branches too, and the stitching around the perimeter, sets it all off. I really like this one lots! TFS & Hugs

This is awesome Pia. Just shows us that most of us just use our dies the conventional way but they have far more uses. Gorgeous.
