Card Kit Swap with Nonni and Marina - take #1

I'm doing a "Card Kit Swap" with Nonni of Nonni's Handmade Cards and Marina of My Perfect Life. We're supposed to make 4 cards out of the kit and we can add some of our own stash too as we're keeping it really simple and fun.

Nonni sent us the first kit, it contained 4 sheets of patterned papers, 1 dry embossed one and 2 heat embossed ones. And there were stamped flowers and leaves, sequins and bling.
I sure had fun with Nonni's kit and here's what I made:

Card #1: A "just because" card
Everything on this card is from Nonni, a part from the embossed sentiment on vellum and the metal thread. I kept the colors limited, I only added Wink of Stella and colored a few details in with a golden gel pen. I used embossing powder similar to the color of the DP. The sentiment is in Norwegian, it's the definition of flower "FLOWER - a beautiful and unique gift from nature created for sharing".

Card #2: A birthday card
The die cut panel with sentiment and butterflies are my own, everything else comes from Nonni's kit. I so love the animal printed paper in blue!

Card #3: A "with sympathy" card
I loved this stamped paper and had a hard time cutting into it, afraid of ruining it, and I certainly didn't want to risk anything by inking. So I just cut it to make a panelled card, added a sympathy sentiment and a die cut rose.

Card #4: A card for a 50th birthday
I was a bit anxioussponging the embossed paper with red ink, but I didn't mess up. Added a strip of one of the patterned papers and made a square card. The flowers were colored with Promarkers and Wink of Stella. From my own stash I added some black lace, a die cut swirl and banners with DYMO sentiments.

I'd love to hear which card is YOUR favorite and why.

Wow Pia, these are all amazing! I love the first and third one the most. I also really like how you've combined the die cut flowers with the bg heat embossed flowers in your last card, I great idea! Also the selective coloring in your first card looks fab -I almost did that too but then changed my mind -great minds think alike! :) I'm glad you enjoyed crafting with the kit. xxx

They are all stunning Pia, you have achieved very different looks with each, torn between the top one and the monochrome as favourite, the top one has a bold coloured background as a contrast to the embossed panel and the monochrome because of the lay out, enjoy your holiday.

They are all gorgeous Pia, it looks like a fabulous kit. My favourite has to be the first one, such an elegant design and beautiful colours - the embossed sentiment looks lovely on vellum and matches the design paper perfectly.

Awww Pia.... They are all amazing! Your elegant style come out from each one!!! Great idea this swap, and beautiful items from Nan, but I wouldn't have been able to create 4 cards from them!!! :D And you have been very busy :D
Love all them: the first one for it's unusual cold design, the embossed papers with the dictionary quote on the vellum and those superb flowers with a few of colour, it remember me the winter time; the second one for the feel of forest and wild life, but a so elegant and feminine look; the third for it's clear and somber style, just perfect for a sympathy card; and the last one for the sweet, warm, feminine and lovely look... thet remember me the cherries and the spring! Perhaps I could choose the first and the last ones as my favourite, also if they have two opposite feels :D

Card 1 – Is that stitching around the edge – how brave! I would have been too nervous that I’d ruin it. I love the angle you’ve put the embossed paper at, and all the text . (enter it into Inkspirational?)
Card 2- I confess, I didn’t actually like the leopard print paper when I first opened the kit and wasn't going to use it …I was wrong. I liked it on my card, I liked it on Nonni’s , and I love it here too. With the flowers and butterflies it makes me think of an exotic menagerie in a 1930s Hollywood star’s home . (Is that weird?)
Card 3 – How clever to make one piece look so layered and great in monochrome.
Card 4 – Yes, I think this is the most similar card to any of mine but you did so much more with it and it looks great.
Love them all – such variety! If I have to choose I will go for card 1 – just for the fabulous design.
I’m loving this and so glad we are doing it !

What a fun idea, Pia! Nonni put together an awesome card kit for you! I love all four cards! If I had to pick a favourite, it would be #1 because of the gorgeous offset embossed panel and coloured sentiment. Beautiful job! Can't wait to see cards for your future kits with this group!
