A pocket of flowers

It's Sunday and it's time for a new "Stella Says Sketch" challenge over at Catch the Bug. We are back to bi-weekly sketch challenges.

I used an image called Flower Pocket 7, colored up with Promarkers and fussy cut. I made my own background using two yellow paints. I embossed it with an embossing folder that came free with a magazine, then I used a white gelato to rub onto the pattern for highlighting. The flower border is made with a Fiskars punch my aunt gave me for my birthday. I added a few yellow pearls, a sentiment - congratulations - and then white machine stitching along the edges.

This card is also for:
4 Crafty Chicks - #314 Fussy Cutting
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Craft Rocket Challenges - #23 Anything Goes
Crafting With An Attitude - Anything Goes

Your backgrounds with gelatos are adorable and this isn't an exception!! Fabulous! Another technique that I must try!! Love this sunny card with the "denim" flower pocket! The lovely punched border looks very sweet, it has been a beautiful gift from your aunt!
Have a lovely Sunday!

The yellow background really works perfectly with the strip of flowers. I like you kept these in white, so very elegant and makes the blue of pocket really pop x

Oh I love this background!!! And that Fiskars punch is perfect to set off the image!

I don't have gelatos... one more medium I'm scared to start buying... if I like something, I tend to want it all!!!

Love the yellow background, beautiful texture, lovely card;-))m

That yellow is bright and cheery but soft enough to allow the pocket to take centre stage. You've got the balance just right and the Gelatto highlights add enough interest without crowding out the focal image. Really well done, Pia.
