Black, white and gold for a teenager

Today I've finished up a youthful masculine design, using black, white and gold.
The footwear is part of a more detailed stamp, but I cut them out after heat embossing with black.
For the background I used a new stamp from the Concord&9th "Seasonal Borders" set. I stamped with Altenew Enchanted gold ink. I used the same ink to cover the die cut frame from Altenew.
On top of the stamped border I used a Memory Box burlap stencil with gold Nuvo expanding mousse (fun stuff!). I blended some of the mousse with water to add some golden splatter.
I stamped the happy birthday and used one of the dies from Concord&9th "Season of cheer" set. A few gold star stickers from my stash.

Ink #216 - Sketch

For our challenge at Inkspirational this fortnight we have a word prompt: sketch. We don't have a sketch for you, you can use a sketch of your choice, sketch an image or use any other interpretation of the word, it's up to you.

I decided to follow a sketch, using several paper scraps, real lace and paper lace, wooden items and an image cut from a DP ages ago.

I look forward to seeing your projects. You can see what my teamies made too, just head over to the challenge blog.

Pet

Over at Catch the Bug, Thursday is 'Oldie but goodie' day and that's when we showcase some of the older Bugaboo images.

I used the image Funny Pup, colored with Promarkers.
I made the background with mainly green and blue DIs and DoX and used several stencils. I covered the stencils with ink, sprayed with water and used them as "stamps".
I doodled a frame and stanped a large birthday greeting,

Skating mice in non traditional Christmas colors

I'm really behind on my Christmas cards this year, but I tried to get into the spirits by using the Lawn Fawn set of skating mice I did quite a few cards with last year, in addition to stamps from two other Lawn Fawn sets.
The background was made with blue Distress Oxide ink.
A lot of fussy cutting was done, and some elements were raised with foam tape. I heat embossed the heart the mice supposedly have formed with their skates, using white embossing powder.
The sentiment, heat embossed in gold,  is from Concord&9th. I love this one - to me Christmas IS the most wonderful time of the year.

I was inspired by the colors from the Color Throwdown photo.

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug - and it's BINGO time.

Jodie has several watering can images to choose from, and this time I used Rose Watering Can, colored with Promarkers and cut with an oval stitched die. I used an aqua colored DP for the strip an embossed panel in white. A birthday greeting in Norwegian.

    Bottle tag - Chef Pierre

In general I'm struggling with making tags or bottle tags, there's so little to space to create on. But it's really practical to have some tags or bottle tags on hand, it makes a bottle gift of whatever more fun and personal.

I colored Chef Pierre Wine from Bugaboo with Promarkers and fussy cut him. I made a background using two stencils from Tim Holtz, one for the floor and one for the wall. The wall's color is quite subtle as I brushed rather than sponging with pink DI, hope you still can see it.

Ink #215 - Yellow paint photo

In my corner of the world we have high (for us) temperatures and beautiful sunny weather. And my annual leave starts on Wednesday - yay!

For our challenge at Inkspirational this fortnight we have a photo which can be interpreted in many ways, but I went with a sunny scene and yellow paint.
For my card I used an image from A Day for Daisies, fussy cut and mounted on foam. The sentiment is in Norwegian and translates "Wishing you a day full of smiles and laughter".

I look forward to seeing your projects. You can see what my teamies made too, just head over to the challenge blog.

    Sketch - zebras

Catch the Bug is back with another sketch challenge, and it´s a nice and clean one, so it was quite hard to settle on just one image. But I went with Zebra, or actually two of them, merged together. They required little coloring, just black for the stripes and a little grey and blue for outlining.

I had this zebra print DP in my stash, so I added two stripes of the same paper, and instead of a bow, I added grey and white enamel dots.
The sentiment is a birthday greeting in Norwegian.

    Ink #214 Humorous sentiment

For our challenge this fortnight at Inkspirational I chose the theme. I'd like to see some funny/humorous sentiments on your projects.

For my card I used images and a sentiment from two different stamp sets from Art Impressions. The images are colored with Promarkers and fussy cut, the man is mounted on foam. The background is made with Distress Oxides. I used a speech bubble die and a stitched frame die.

I look forwaard to seeing your projects. You can see what my teamies made too, just head over to the challenge blog.

Gift card holder - Christmas Trio Block

I've got 5 nephews and as they grow older it's quite difficult to come up with ideas for Christmas gifts. And when I ask what they want for Christmas, money is on the top of the list (and sometimes the only thing on the list).

So to make a money gift a bit more personal I'm making gift card/money holders. This one is being kept closed by small magnets. Here I used Christmas Trio Block from Bugaboo, colored with Promarkers. Papers are freebie ones. I also used red corrugated paper.

    Gnome -sketch and colors

I'm seeing more and more gnomes around in blogland, so I decided to pull out my stamp from Stamping Bella with this cute gnome hidden amongst a field og flowers.
Coloring was done with Promarkers and a white gel pen. I distressed the edges with grey DI and also stamped with a scripture text to reduce the white space.
The sentiment is a birthday greeting in Norwegian. The flower is a wooden one, covered with yellow paint and gesso, I added a grey enamel dot.
I was inspired by a sketch and a color scheme, as listed below.

    Yellow flowers

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug - and this time it's a photo.

I used two of the images from the Bella trio set and colored with Promarkers in the colors of the photo.
For the background I used a light green Distress Oxide.
I die cut a few leaves and flowers, the flowers I tried to ressemble the ones of the image.
A stamped a sentiment on a fishtail banner and used a black along the edges. Finally I die cut drame was added to frame the whole scene.

    Ink #213 Shake

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have a word prompt - SHAKE. So to make a shaker card seemed appropriate.

I used an image from Mo's digital pencil, colored with Promarkers, mainly in grey and with little touches of pink and orange. I used an oval die to make the shaker opening and hold and pink sequins of different shapes. A birthday sentiment in Norwegian was stamped onto a piece of white card.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see what my teammates have made.

    Bee happy

Here's my card featuring this week's Freebie Friday image-  you can pick it up at no cost in the Bugaboo store.

I colored the image using Promarkers, I added glitter glue to the wings and fussy cut.
For the background I used a honeycomb embossing folder, but instead of embossing with it I added brown DOx and used it as a stamp. Then I sprayed with peach Glimmer Mist.
The sentiment was in one I picked up as a freebie at some point - not sure where.

Flowers for Christmas and a birthday

Here are my two cards for the Twofer Card Challenge #27, where the theme is FLOWERS.
For both cards I used a stamp from Concord & 9th, I made a Christmas card and a birthday card.

    1) CHRISTMAS CARD
Here I used the flower stamp as poinsettias. The full leaves are from the same stamp set, the open leaves are from a Christmas stamp set from Kort&Godt. I used a white gel pen on the red flowers and I also added some gold glitter glue. Blue DI was brushed on along the edges of the card and was used for splatter. The sentiment is from another Concord & 9th set.

    This card is also for:
    Krafty Chicks - #507 Christmas
The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - #71 Anything Christmas Goes

    2) BIRTHDAY CARD
This card turned out very different than I had planned. I heat embossed the flowers with white embossong powder, then I added pink DI. I had planned to add a sentiment only. But I couldn't find one fitting to avoid covering the embossed part. So I added a circle. It seemed a bit bland, so I die cut some leaves and flowers. I didn't add the flowers as I found an image sitting on my desk I decided to use. It's from ADFD and was colored with Promarkers and I added glitter glue. So instead of having the flower stamp as a main feauture it become part of the background.

Friends dont let Friends Wine Alone

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug - and this time it's a theme: LADIES NIGHT.

I used the image Friends dont let Friends Wine Alone and colored it with Promarkers. I fussy cut the image and used a checkered DP as table cloth. I framed the image and doodled with a black pen.

For the background I used an embossing folder as a stamp together with pink Distress Oxide.
Two die cut flowers and a sentiment that translates “The answer is a glass of wine. Who cares what the question is”

    Flowers to celebrate your day

Tuesday is new release day over at  Bugaboo and this image will pop up in the store here some time today.

The image is colored with Promarkers.  I also added a bit of glitter glue to the flowers, not so visible in the photo.

The background I made using 3 different distress oxides onto a paper I had added applied gesso to. I used a text print stamp on some areas and distressed the edges using brown ink. The panel was cut with a Penny Black antique die.

Flowers from my stash, a few was part of a freebie set with a magazine along with the sentiment.

    The girl on the train

Seeing the cover at the book at The Library Challenge I immediately knew I wanted to CASE it. It was just a matter of finding an image, some sentiments as well as washi tape.
The girl is from Tim Holtz, I gave her a paper pieced top. The sentiments are all from different sets, Kaiserkraft, Poppy, Penny Black and others.
I had so much fun making this and I'll probably make more cards with the same concept, for different occasions. The Girl on the Train (Movie Tie-In) By Paula Hawkins | Used - Very Good | 9780735212169 | World of Books

Ink #212 - Photo Cake shop

For our new challenge at Inkspirational we have a photo. I was inspired by the word cake, all the flowers and how they seem to form a sort of pennant in front of the door.

I used a pre-colored topper from Katy Sue Designs. I made the pennant with scraps of paper and a Kaisercraft stamp, fussy cutting and paper piecing. The flowers are made with Spellbinder dies and pearls from my stash. The background DP was a freebie with a magazine. The birthday sentiment in Norwegian was stamped onto  a fishtal banner.

Please head over to the challenge blog to see what my teammates have made.

      Umbrella and spring colors

Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug - and this time it's a color challenge.

I used Fancy Umbrella 3. I used the three colors to the right for the image and the 3 on the left for the background. I used purple DoX and 2 blue Altenew inks with water for rain splatter. I die cut a frame and added sparkly glitter along the inside edges of the frame. A birthday greeting was added on a fishtail banner.

      Girl in garden

Seeing Marina's card here I was inspired to play with some of my A Day for daisies images. This is one my absolute favorites. I colored it with Promarkers and added a touch of glitter glue to the flowers. I used kraft colored ink for the birthday sentiment. A Penny Black die was used to make the frame. I cut an extra one in kraft to get a shadow effect.

      Ink #211 - Paint splatters

This fortnight the theme for our new challenge at Inkspirational is paint splatters.
I made another card for my nephew Noah's 13th birthday. I used the footballer die from Dixi Craft, cut in white and another one in black for shadow. I added number 13 on his chest, to represent his age, and also die cut letters to add his name. A birthday greeting was stamped.
The background was made with blue inks and brushos. I used watered out gesso and blue ink to make splatters. I also used a stamp with numbers and text and another one with circles, stamped with blue ink, so it's very subtile. A few stars were added as well.

Naughty or nice - nothing like a Dame

I'm behind on my Christmas card making, so for "Humour me Wednesday"  over at Catch the Bug i pulled out JJ Xmas Cheer - tis the season for "Nothing like a Dame" day.

Image is colored with Promarkers and I added glossy accent on her glasses and baubles. I think the sentiment fitted her state and I used some old DPs from my stash.
