Nautical Scene with Lighthouse and Boat

"Lighthouse" - that's our optional twist over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday this week. Our August sponsor is Marker Pop.
I used a Maja Design DP for the frame and as background for the vellum with map. The map is made with a stamp from Prima, I heat set it with blue EP. The lighthouse stamp is Graphic45. I used a metal boat charm from Storyteller, and cheesecloth to make the ocean. The birthday greeting is made using my Dymo.

This card is also for these challenges:
1) Sweet Stamps - #184 Masculine Birthday
2) Come and Get It - Anything Goes with a Sentiment
3) Eclectic Ellapu - Seaside or Nautical
4) Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Goes

Hi Pia, to answer your question - I did heat embossed the flowers with vellum and find a better result by colouring at the back - you just need to make it a little darker.
I love your nautical card, the map with vellum is stunning, a great lighthouse and I love the silver charm!!

This is a great card, Pia. I love the nautical theme and your charm is perfect.

The colours you used look great...and the bit of netting for the sea looks good too!

Thanks for the kind comments about the lake. DH and the girls love it here...but they love hot, dry heat. The fishing is good as the fish do not taste muddly and are safe to eat.
My family lives in the Okanagan...beautiful sandy beaches, hotter than here by maybe 2 degrees and fabulous wine country.
Married daughter goes there for their twwo week vacation each year. About 10 families go together and stay at the beach in adjoining suites. Her MIL has 2 rental townhouses there, but not on the section of the lake that my daughter and her husband like.

But...the Okanagan is never a vacation for me as I am kept busy the whole time, helping my family.

Where we are is hot but we do not have snakes. Where my family live, and where daughters MIL has the rental properties, there are ratlesnakes...so not my thing at all!
They also have Black Widow spiders. Uggggh!!!
My Dad was bit when by a ratlesnake when he was about 9 or 10. He was so lucky to live through that.

Where my house is in the city, it is so busy with heavy traffic on the highways and long commutes to work. It seems there are lineups to park, to shop, to bank etc. Here at the lake, our lives are relaxed, no lineups, and it is very quiet and restful. I could never live here full time as it would be too much peace and quiet...but perfect for us for the summer!

We still like our hotel holidays too. Last year we went to Britain for a month and plan to go again next year. We are busy at the moment researching a cruise through the Balkans.

Norway is such a beautiful country, we would like to tour there too!

So you see, we like both, a lovely hotel and a lovely RV holiday!
