Christmas Frog

I bumped into this cute little Christmas frog over at From The Heart Digital Stamps and just couldn't resist it. I printed him straight away and colored him with Promarkers in several shades of green and yellow, and red for his hat. I added glitter to the fur trim and glossy accent to its eyes and heart. To be quite frank I've always found this Christmas DP - both front and back - rather ugly, but I think it works for this design. As for embellishments I was a bit stuck at first - I didn't think the traditional choices of poinsettias, snowflakes or Christmas trees would be right, and I wanted to make this card for a man, so I chose to add panels of gold Mirri card, stamped clouds (Craft Lounge) and die cut grass (Whiff of Joy). The sentiment (unknown) is stamped with black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

This card is for these challenges:
1) Cards For Men - Christmas in July
2) I love Promarkers - #178 Christmas in July
3) Crafty Boots - Animals
4) Southern Girls - Animal Antics
5) Digi Galore - One for the Boys
6) Sweet Stamps - #127 Christmas Greenery
7) Make it Monday - Anything Goes

You've certainly transformed the "ugly" DP and made a lovely card. And to put a froggy on a Christmas card is creativity at its best!

This card is adorable. I love the unusual style Christmas cards...not just ones showing horse drawn carriages, since I live in the desert and don't have that type of weather. So, this frog made me smile since this is more like what Santa's helper might look like. hahahahhaa! GREAT card. Hugs, Gail
P.S. Thanks for all your nice comments on my blog!

That's really Christmas paper?? I can see why you'd find it 'nontraditional' of sorts, but you're so right about it being perfect for this image. Your scenery is exceptional for this adorable little Christmas frog!!! Fantastic card with the best choice for masculine touches. :)
