CAS Christmas Village

Some cards feel like one big rescue operation! Does that ever happen to you? I had planned a totally different design, but I had to do some many cover ups that I ended up with this clean and simple card.

CAS-ual Fridays has the theme of "Something torn", which gave me the idea to use torn paper to make the snow (which is actually also a part of my my cover up job!)

I'm glad I could rescue the image, I spent a lot of time coloring the image with some newly bought Promarkers. The image is made with a stamp from the Papermania "at Christmas Time" set.

This card is for these challenges:
1) CAS-ual Fridays - Something torn
2) Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - #98 For a Man or Boy
3) 2 Sisters - #117 Favorite Christmas Image

A gorgeous card. A lovely image and beautifully coloured. The torn paper looks really good. You have done a good job of covering because I would never have known. Yes I have had cards like that so I do understand.

This is such a pretty and peaceful scene. The torn snow is such a great idea and no one will ever know what it is hiding.

Sometimes when my little 6 year old gradaughter is colouring her cards beside me, I will hear her take a quick breath in and sort of moan...ohhhhh! I look over and there are tears welling up behind her eyes as she is almost finished and has made what she feels is a "mistake". She doesn't cry but the tears are just there behind the eyes and I tell her...there are no mistakes in cardmaking. We can fix anything if we re create our original idea!

I always think card making is a good lesson in life...I find I often need to re create my original ideas about many things not related to cardmaking! teehee

Love your very pretty card.

PS Thanks for the quick answer about the die. I appreciate it as I am trying to spend my $ wisely as DH is retired now:)

Some of my mishaps have turned into some of my funnest and most unique cards. I love how you've layered the paper at the bottom and I think this card turned out beautifully.

Ooh Pia… I would never have known this is a cover up job!! because it looks so beautiful !! what a gorgeous image and your colouring is perfection! I love the way you've layered up the torn paper - it looks really fab… a lovely cosy village nestled in the snow!!
I am ALWAYS doing cover ups… I start out with one design and like you say… mess up and have to adapt… but sometimes I have discovered some great new techniques through my mistakes!! ;-))
Hope you're having a good week!
Big Hugs
